Ball State Alumni step up to support the BIG GAME
http://www.ballstatedaily.com/article/20...tball-game

Nice feel good story; however, the end of the article seems to discount the NIU/UT game as having any bearing on deciding the MAC West which is only true if Ball State wins at NIU.

Only true if NIU wins, not if BSU wins. If BSU wins we are out of it.

Read my original post again. I was talking about whether or not the Ball State assistant quoted in the article would be right or wrong about stating that the winner of that game wins the MAC west. If Ball State defeats NIU then the NIU/UTgame has NO bearing on who the MAC west sends to the MACC game, but if NIU wins then it could come down to the NIU/UT game (assuming UT defeats Buffalo and Akron and NIU only loses to UT).

So, when we go to a BCS bowl next year, I expect Gradkowski, Moore, Greco & Church to charter a plane for 300 students...

Great idea.

I remember for a year or maybe two in the early 2000s the University (actually Student Government, as I recall) offered students free (or greatly discounted) bus trips to many of the away conference games.

As well as supporting the team in hostile territory, I thought that it was a great way grow the future alumni fan base, but I suppose it got too expensive to continue.

Yes, I was on many of those free bus trips. I became a diehard fan on my own but being able to support my team on the road despite being a poor, college kid strengthened my love for the university.

Well so far all the weekday MACtion that has taken place hasn't been that great. Terrible crowds, blowouts…But this week should be different starting Tuesday at the Glass Bowl. Should be a halfsway decent crowd and a great game. The BSU/ NIU should be a really good game and I would hope that NIU can pack that stadium of theirs.

Thus their hosting Ball State is very fitting.
