Chatting right now in Facebook with a mutual friend who worked with Kevin and me on the school program. Her feeling--and mine--is that Kevin likes to call attention to himself and sometimes tries to do so by making outrageous statements, even in casual conversation. This looks to both of us like a "Kevin being Kevin" moment. Maybe this time he was a bit too full of himself and crossed the line.

If ours is a War Anthem, France's "La Marseillaise" is a genocide anthem. To be fair, he never said that it shouldn't be played before the game.

Now, I don't believe the flag should be worn as decoration either.

ESPN gets paid by the cable companies for each subscriber who gets the channel. ESPN always contracts to be on the Basic tier, meaning if you have cable at all, you're getting the channel. And ESPN charges $5 per subscriber. So every single house in America with cable or dish is forking over $5 per month to ESPN. Five dollars!!!! Some channels only get a few pennies.

They used to be the same way about USC and Pete Carroll... Once alObama gets knocked off their wobbling pedestal, this will change.

Actually it would take more than a Buckeye to do it. I think FSU can, and maybe Oregon.

This Alabama team is not as good as the last few. I predict this is the year the SEC loses its grip on the national championship. I don't thing SEC ball in general is as good overall as it has been.

But after last night, I doubt it will be Oregon doing it.

That's not 100% true. I have cable through Comcast and I have more than just basic cable and we don't get any sports channels. Our channel lineup looks like they blindfolded someone, spun them in a circle 3 times and asked them to pin the tail on random channels.
