RE: High school football thread
I think we will come out firing on all cylinders against Columbus State. Looking forward to the game. I'm predicting a score of 85-57. What do y'all think?

Excited about the new floor, but confused as I thought we had more volleyball games.

I've never understood why they couldn't just put down/take up the court in between basketball games until volleyball season ends. Sure it takes time, but that's what the student workers are for. Plus, it makes the viewing experience so much better.

Columbus State is located in Columbus GA.
They are the Cougars, and members of the Peach Belt Conference.
Picked to finish 7th. They went 13-13 last year.
Their website says this is an exhibition game for them.

When I worked there, it took 4-5 hours to take it up or put it down, with a crew of 12-15 people. I can tell you, we almost never had a full crew because the workers were in class or didn't want to have anything to do with the floor, so we would end up doing the floor with 7-8 people. And, even though they are student workers, they still need to get paid to work. Doing the floor several times a week is not cost effective. That is why they usually put it down for the home opener and then don't put it back down until volleyball is over.

I worked at Ft. Benning for a month back in 2010. The downtown Marriott there reutilizes part of the old cotton gin building that was next to the river. And they have really cleaned up the downtown area and have nice restaurants, bars and pubs lining both sides of the street. The Columbus State campus is adjacent to the downtown area. Columbus GA was a good place to be TDY.
