Secretly, the West Virginia
mafia wanted Luck to take the UT job. They thought that would increase their political clout in the Big 12. To push expansion in a direction that favored WV.

Now, the WV mafia is secretly disappointed.

Doubtful. Maybe in like 6 years it will be worth talking about.

I certainly wouldn't categorize your sources as being wrong, nor would I consider it to be unlikely considering Orangebloods proclamation that Patterson is a done deal. Texas hires Bowlsby for the Big 12. Texas hires ASU's AD. Texas is reported to still be cool on future additions. I'll be interested to see what kind of offer the PAC might make. It's too soon to say for sure but I certainly would not be surprised.

It depends, is there anything else about Patterson as to why Texas would want him?

It could, but Patterson also has ties to Saban. It's a mixed bag. Saban to Texas? Texas to PAC? Or could the regime change make Texas to the SEC possible? While doubtful stranger things have happened. Or it could mean absolutely nothing at all.

He has strong ties to Saban, is a Texas Law School graduate like Oliver Luck, and like Luck has worked with professional sports in Texas, and is a house cleaner without a touchy feely side.

WVU to the PAC?

Seriously, I don't see Saban coaching in the PAC, even with Texas. If he is talking to Texas I'd bet he is looking for guarantees they won't move to the PAC.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I could see Saban return to the Big 10, move to the Big 12, or remain in the SEC with a Texas move, but no I don't see him in the PAC either.
