Exactly, and throw Idaho in there too. We have a relatively weak schedule, and we need to take adv of beating Toledo/Ball State/MACC East Team.
With attrition infront of us, and a boost from the computers and nationally televised games, we will close the Gap on Fresno and keep AAC behind us.

Fearless prediction:
ESPN graphics department are in the process as we speak of creating 3 separate graphics of opponents winning percentage to be aired at 15 minute intervals during next week's broadcast.

It really shouldnt fire me up...but it does. This network does some great things like showcase our school in a great all access video, but then many of the announcers rag on us every chance they get. Grrrrr...

Tonight fired me up because that last 2 minute conversation was planned. Smith dropping hints/reminders to voters to use UCF to block out NIU, just laughable. What a joke.

But couldn't you account for the erratic NIU voting this year on the campaign ESPN started last year? When something is repeated enough, it burns in the mind and the perception can become reality. Maybe if ESPN continues to push this plea to voters to the extreme it could actually backfire on them.

No. The voters are educated football people, and they aren't strongly influenced by announcers or analysis on a tv network. The USA Poll coaches see scores and stats and maybe some film, and vote. They don't watch ESPN and form an opinion from a few announcers or analysts. The Harris Poll voters are well informed football people who have their own opinions, and again, don't care what a couple announcers on ESPN think.
If anything, this may influence the general public and their perception... but that's about it.

They might be educated but its not on football!! How can you even say that when you have seen the voting anomalies all over college football this year. It is just voting for your own conference, suppressing teams you don't like? You act like there is thought and insight going into the process?

There maybe anomalies, but it isn't because of some ESPN campaign. You can go on a tantrum if we are still well behind Fresno after beating Ball State and Toledo, but you cant be this upset after we got done with our cupcake part of our schedule and are ranked #18 within striking distance going into our tuffest 3 MAC games.

Its not just NIU, NIU is only a very small part of the problem. The fact Louisville in even in the top 25 is a joke, the Coaches poll has them 16! Thank god the computers balance out the human corruption to some extent.

With us beating Ball State and Toledo, and attrition occurring infront of us, we will be between 12-14 going into the WMU game. If Fresno wins both games as well, we may not pass them until after the MACC. We should all be rooting for Buffalo to win out for our strongest opponent.
