Losing the argument and running out of ideas, Louisiana senator Mary Landrieu resorts to a tactic that worked wonderfully for President Obama.

As reported in Politico by Manu Raju:

“I would vote again for the Affordable Care Act. I’m for the Affordable Care Act. Period. End,” Landrieu said in a recent interview.

Just as a matter of political strategy, she's stuck with it, anyway. ("It" = her status as the pro-ObamaCare candidate in the race). It's not as if she could say "Ooops, I'm sorry this isn't working out" would help her now.

Plus, this statement has the additional advantage of being true. She really would vote for it again. She is a down-the-line partisan Democrat, and an unreconstructed big-government liberal. Supporting laws like ObamaCare is the central, core-purpose of her entire career in politics. If she's going to go down, she might as well go down swinging.

So she's in favor of an unpopular law that is causing millions to lose the insurance they had and drive costs up and medical options down. How the hell did she ever win an election in the first place?

2. Overwhelming bloc-support from black voters.

Even with all of those advantages, Landrieu still won by only 50.17% to 49.83%.
