RE: NBR Northwestern's bloody uniforms
"Wounded Warriors" did bleed for their country so the appearance of blood - if that is what it is supposed to be - is very appropriate to that representation on these uniforms. The whole flag as such is not shown but details representing the flag which represents the nation these warriors bled to serve. "Taste"? There is nothing "tasteful" about being severely wounded by shot, shell or IED so that is not - to me - a major issue. I think the whole deal is good for what it is intended to promote - showing appreciation and providing financial support for the Wounded Warrior Project.

I bet Jesus would be proud of that one. Seems you know less about religion than I do.
You don't have a clue about what Jesus would be proud of, you are obviously confusing meek with weak. Why do you hate God and country so much? You can take the American dollar that states in God we trust and find a more suitable living arrangement. Oh wait, you like the religious freedom, the freedom of speech, and your ability to openly criticize the government without being punished.
Who's jumping to conclusions now? Who said I hate America? I simply said why can't we live our lives and be proud of our country without having to prove it? It's attitudes exactly like yours that makes living in the south intolerable sometimes. Everything has to be out in the open, push it in your face, make sure everyone knows it. I'm proud of my country for a lot of things. Some things, not so much. At any rate, I'm just as American as you are.
And how can I hate something that I don't believe exists? You understand what it means when I say I'm an atheist, right?
You are a confused individual, just because you don't believe doesn't mean anything to me. He exists and you hate Him by denying Him. Atheist = confused individual.

You do understand that what goes on at a school doesn't necessarily go on at the workplace unless you work in a school, right? Do you get off work for teachers work day?

Pretty sure that was a joke.

RE: NBR Northwestern's bloody uniforms
Protestant Christianity has generally accepted the Roman Catholic Church's designation of Christmas on December 25th as "Christmas" so we do take that day off from work - Mexican or whatever. We don't customarily take the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Christmas off however, which is January 6th, the day generally accepted as the day the "Wise Men" arrived to declare the divinity of the "Christ child" and is called the Day of the Epiphany (The "12 Days of Christmas" begin at midnight on 12/25 and extend to 1/6).
Because of its attachment to the Roman Church, celebrating Christmas (Christ's Mass) was illegal in the Puritan controlled New England colonies for many years.
The Eastern Orthodox Easter is also one week after the Roman Catholic Easter which is the first Sunday after the first full moon following the Spring (Vernal) Equinox.

2) I'm not sure that I buy the "blood" thing. Did the company say it was supposed to be blood. If you look at the other side, the blue is streaked through the white just like the red is...the texas tech uniform also splatters the same way. think it's a poor design choice, but not as bad as if it were "blood"
As a military kid, my dad would never let me wear a flag of any kind... or any country... Out of respect... So, I have a natural aversion to people wearing anything with the flag on it.
I think I'm more troubled by the fact that the team will have to hit/tackle/rub in the dirt these uniforms just to play, and we're essentially putting other teams in the position of having to attack the image of the flag.
I honestly don't think I could do it.
If that makes me a sappy patriot, so be it.
