Got my tickets for the season tip-off at the AAC. Until proven otherwise, I stand by my prediction of an NIT berth. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

How did you get the tickets? I'm in the Mustang Club and I called two weeks ago for tickets for the UConn game. They told me the first time they will be available is about 11/23/13, when season ticket packages are available. They said they'll call me to let me know when I can buy them.

You guys have a real chance to be better than an NIT team, but I fully understand your comment.

Assembling/keeping current a list of good replacements for Larry in a year or two is really important to the Mustangs. Based on his history, the Mustangs could be on borrowed time after this year, imho. However, he's building a nice roster down there that a good coach could keep "recruit to" so that he keeps the momentum going.

Season ticket packages are already available - not sure about single-game tickets. But the season packages don't include the TCU game at the AAC. Those need to be bought through Ticketmaster (or on a secondary site like StubHub).

I agree, but for what it's worth, Larry seems to be having a great time at SMU. He also just bought a condo less than half a mile from campus and his son is a freshman on the Hilltop this year.

That's great for SMU and Mustang fans.

It would be a great story if he finished his career there and had a number of successive NCAA tournament bids.

There may have been other recent runs that slip my mind, but the Jon Koncak years were good to watch from afar. Koncak VS Joe Klein (Arkansas) battles were some of the best big-man university level battles a fan could want to see.

Actually, I think this is Larry's last coaching gig. If he leaves for the NBA, it will be for team president or some such gig. . . 73 year old Larry has an 18 year old son that just enrolled as a freshman at SMU04-jawdrop. Larry has stated that he would like to hang around, and watch his son graduate

He's a whale in a medium-sized pond.

Thanks. I'm going to get the "Saturdays-only" season tickets. That package includes UConn.

Wow, that's pretty late for selling tickets. On the UConn board, they are now saying all season tickets are sold out.

An SMU paid site says that they have sold 4500 season tickets. (Yeah, I know. Louisville, Cincinnati, UConn, Memphis will chuckle at that total). When Moody Coliseum reopens after the remodeling against UConn on 1/4/14, it will seat around 7,000.

Jankovich is the Head Coach in Waiting - a mandatory requirement by SMU before they hired LB. A succession plan is in place should LB retire or leave, but I think he really does want to be here while his son is in school.

So let's make sure we keep the Junior Brown happy!
