Potential huge injury
Maybe one of the bigger ones for the year:

If Dunn is out for a while(or God forbid the season)- it would be a devastating blow to Providence. Even if it were a 6-8 week injury, that's the entire OOC schedule, which Providence needs for any tourney run.

It would be devastating in more ways than one. PC is not deep at the point. Bryce Cotton, who was recruited as a PG, would move to the point, which he can handle capably. But what impact does that have on his scoring?

It probably means also the highly rated freshman steps into the starting lineup sooner than expected. That's fine since he could quickly become a star, but he would also become the backup PG, which is not his strength.

Dunn better get healthy quickly.

RE: Potential huge injury
if it's even a 3-4 week injury- most all of their OOC games are in by then.... All their big ones except for UMass...

Friday vs BC
Paradise Jam tourney where they play Vandy 1st rd 11/22-25.
Kentucky 12/1

Only 4 games betweeen Dec 2-30- with 2 road A10 games vs RI and UMass.

RE: Potential huge injury
Just reported that Kris Dunn is day-to-day, and he's expected back soon, possibly for Friday's opener vs Boston College. This was via Ed Cooley on his live radio show, which started at 7pm tonight. Also tweeted in several places. Huge, huge sigh of relief. Go Big East!

That's huge. If he is indeed healthy, maybe that cloud that gosports was talking about gets lifted.

i hope so! 03-lmfao its difficult to get hopes up and have them dashed. maybe i view things thru somewhat biased glasses, put PC always seems close to a break through but somehow frequently comes up short.
i honestly think that PC is usually better than their recent history and records suggest. there seems to be promise in providence with cooley. Fans of the program, the city of providence and the state of rhode island are ready for that promise to become reality

it's funny, but I could see this propelling them to a faster start. Go from thinking maybe he's gone for a while(the ole here we go again) to being able to play 1st game- mentally that's just a huge difference.

let's hope so, but how so? I expect PC to surprise and be good..not great...but good this year...i don't think a couple of day scare moves that needle too much

RE: Potential huge injury
sometimes when you think you have a chance to be good- but maybe not 100% sure- then something like this happens- you kind of relax and just play ball. I think it's actually going to relax them a lot... The thing is if they can get by BC, the next 3 games are ones they should win(Brown, Marist, Vermont)- before they play Vandy in the tourney in by far their most important game. If they can go in there 4-0, anything can happen...

I like their conference schedule looking at it a lot. Never play more than 2 teams in a row who received votes in the coaches poll. Really I think only 1 bad stretch early season- Villanova, Georgetown, St Johns, and Creighton in a 13 day stretch.

sometimes when you are on the cusp like they are- that's all it takes.
