Ambrose's arrogance
I find it hilarious that some people want the old guard and to play it safe and nice. Instead, we have a guy that can be arrogant, too smart for his own good, tries to play classy (like Gordy) and has learned from the Albert, Combs, Bader, Edsall and his dad. Honestly, that's exactly what we needed in 2009. We needed that. Now we need him to tone it down just a little in situations like last night.

I don't want to go backwards. I want to win games and big games. We are winning games. Maybe not enough for some, but I'll take this over the alternative. Sure the Delaware game was an incredible botch. We can't reverse it.

But let's see how this staff handles adversity. The pass defense last night was abysmal. We stopped attacking on both ends in the fourth quarter. Call it arrogance. I call it misjudging your opponent and overestimating your defense. Our defense is overrated. No matter what the stats say, yes, we beat up on some bad teams and put up great stats.

My biggest problem with their philosophy last night was that we hear about playing 60 minutes all the time (which I brought up in the press conference)and we play 45 most of the time. Imagine how good we can be if we play 60. We can win both games if we play to the end of the game.

I'm still proud of this program and still pissed about last night.

RE: Ambrose's arrogance
Playing 60 minutes and Coaching 60 minutes are indeed different. While players make plays. Coaches have to put the right players on the field to make things happen. That did not happen Saturday night in the 4th quarter. No way you give a true freshman that many carries in a row in that situation. Was that putting him in a chance to succeed? Against that defensive front at that point in the game, that was an act of hubris by Ambrose and he, not the OC, DC or AT, gets the blame as that comes with being the head cheese.

It was a little more than putting a freshman in that situation. I think he was worried about T-West's injury though I don't think he knew exactly what was wrong.

On the kickoff? Again, lack of communication from training staff or Ambrose didn't want to risk him, forgetting there was a bye week coming up. Whatever, I've moved on. It's time to talk about basketball.
