The Top 25 Polls this year (Last week since the new polls have not been released)
The top 25 polls are absolutely terrible this year. I know there are years where teams have been over ranked or teams like Boise State and TCU had controversial positions. But I really cannot understand how all of the polls are so different this year.
Example, the coaches poll has Arizona State unranked despite the fact that they have beaten two ranked teams and lost to two ranked teams, ND and Stanford. Yet Louisville who has literally not beaten anyone sits at 17. And I say the same thing about Texas, sure they lost two games but we have a few two loss teams in the top 20 who have actually played decent schedules. Even the AP poll seems biased because you have a team like Houston getting votes in the coaches poll but they are getting zero in the AP poll despite only losing one game by 1 point.
I like having polls but the ranking criteria is getting far to inconsistent Just look at how UCF is in a different position in every poll on this website.

Also does anyone else feel like there are a lot more teams that have 2 or less losses than usual? It seems like every major conference has multiple 1 loss or undefeated teams this year.

Unbeatens and zero loss teams are about normal (one more of each than this time last year). There are 20 2 loss teams vs. 16 last year at this time. Doesn't seem that much out of the normal range.
There's a strong pro-SEC bias in the AP poll this year. Only Missouri and Alabama have the same rating in both polls. Everyone else is higher in the AP (going all the way down to Florida in the others receiving votes). LSU is the one who really looks wrong. They have beaten Auburn and lost to two unranked teams, yet are high up in the polls ahead of a bunch of 1 loss teams.

RE: The Top 25 Polls this year (Last week since the new polls have not been released)
i made this lil stat book in week 9 (2 weeks ago)
-so far this season, team SEC has had 8 different teams (over half the conference) ranked at #11 or higher at some point in the season
-go back to this point last season and that number rise's to 9, go to the beginning of last season and that number rises to 10. so basically what we are seeing is that 10/14 sec teams were ranking 11th or higher at some point in this season or last season.
-what makes this number so insane is that of the 4 remaining SEC teams that dont have a top 11 ranking within the past year & a half, 3 of them have still made the rankings anyway. that means just one sec team hasnt been ranked within this season & last season
-in this season alone 6 sec teams (nearly half of the sec) have been at #6 or higher in the AP, go back to last season and that number rises to 7 sec teams (half the sec) have had a top 6 ranking, (5 of which were in the the top 3!!!!)
lemme repeat......that was from week 9!!!!!!!!!!
and SEC fans please tell me how theres not an SEC bias?

Strength of Schedule factoid:
Heading into Saturday’s games, Notre Dame had played more teams currently in the Top 25 than all 25 teams ahead of it in the AP poll.
The Irish have played four and are 2-2 against them.
Only one other team, Arizona State (3), had played more than two.
Five teams had played zero -- Baylor, Miami, Fresno State, Oklahoma State and Northern Illinois.
Eleven had played only one, including the top four teams in the poll -- Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State.
LSU has two losses to currently unranked teams. They have only beaten one ranked team (Auburn).

well, now ND is down to 3 teams played in the top 25. Michigan is out now. some ways makes their case stronger- 2-1 vs them.

And yet people want to determine who's the best based on polls instead of on the field.

Sparty is ranked ~18th in all polls with only one loss to a then and now ranked Notre Dame with a win over a then ranked Michigan. Is our spot in the polls fair? Our opponents combined records sick so I can understand the computer factoring that in but humans wouldn't care if Michigan was in our stance, they'd be top 10 thanks to name, human polls suck and I really hope we eventually get to a 16 team playoff, have play-ins for at large teams.

MSU has beaten 2 FBS teams this year with a winning record. 5-4 Iowa and 6-2 Michigan. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't put you guys over any of the 5 AQ undefeated teams, or Auburn, Stanford, Clemson, Missouri, Oklahoma(who beat Notre Dame). So right there are 10 teams that no way would Michigan St be ahead of any of them.
And, no the rankings when a team plays another team isn't all that meaningful to me. I mean, Michigan doesn't look anything like a top 25 team right now.
