C-USA could end up with at least 8 bowl eligible teams
After today's games, here are the teams that have a reasonable shot at bowl eligibility or have already gotten there:

ECU is 6-2
North Texas, Rice, and Tulane are 6-3
Marshall is 5-3 and finish with UAB, @Tulsa, @FIU and ECU
Middle Tennessee is 5-4 and finish with FIU, @USM, and UTEP
UTSA is 4-5 and finish with Tulane, @North Texas and La Tech
FAU is 3-6 but finish with @USM, New Mexico St, and FIU
La Tech is 3-5 and finish with USM, @Rice, Tulsa and @UTSA
USM and FIU are eliminated.
I don't see UTEP, UAB and Tulsa all winning out

Not sure but is UTSA eligible to go to a bowl or are they still in transitional stage?

Would be nice for C-USA to get 9 teams with at least 6 and become backup teams for bowls in which other conferences can't fulfill their allotment. With USM done, I am cheering for whatever scenario gets the most teams with at least 6 wins.

UTSA is only bowl eligible if there are not enough teams that are eligible.

This is turning out to be a most interesting year for C-USA fans. Very interesting results are occurring and our bowl eligibility looks in good shape. I'm not sure I agree with the LaTech scenario.

I think the divisional races are VERY interesting. 5 teams with one loss each. ECU and Marshall still on track for their Black Friday clash, and three who can take it all in the west. Lots of fun remains.

I don't think LA Tech can win 3 for their last 4. Probably 2, but not 3.

I think we end up with 6 or 7.

I agree. There are some AAC fans that act like C-USA is having a down year with the new additions, but this conference is fun and week in and week out. The divisional race in the West is interesting and competitive. This thing is going down to the wire. Many teams seemed to be playing their best ball right now. I'm watching UTEP go toe to toe with Texas A&M right now.

? say MTSU won out and Marshall beats ECU. All 3 would have 2 conference losses and no one beat both of the other two. What is the tie breaker?

Don't count UTSA out of the west yet. If we win out that means Tulane and UNT each have two losses. Then if Tulane beats Rice in last week (and none of the four loses any other games), then 4-way tie and UTSA takes the tiebreaker. Not probable, but not that far-fetched. 04-cheers

UTEP is finished. If Tulsa's not a broken team after what "Meep-Meep" did to them yesterday, I'll be totally shocked. UAB is swirling in the bowl, can't see them taking down either Marshall or East Carolina, both are "Army Strong" at home.

If Tech wins against USM and Tulsa, we go into San Antonio needing to win in order to be bowl eligible. You never know how a young team will react to circumstances like that.
