someone joked yesterday about how since they were giving away 10k, then everyone would get one (implying 10k or less would show up).

They were only giving them out at the student entrance, atleast from what I saw, no one else in the stadium had them, no where near 10,000

There were tons of people walking around with a dozen towels...all with the ahem story that they were for their seat mates.

Label it "free" and people will take as much poo as you can place in their hands.

I get a kick out of watching people go for the free T-shirts at the basketball games. I used to be as guilty as anyone else. When they're shooting the Lenny's cannon or dropping them from the catwalk, people will knock down a toddler or an old lady trying to get a shirt that they likely wouldn't wear except to work in the yard.

Someone should do a study on the human phyche in regards to our need to grab something free whether we need it or not.
