Most schools have things they do on 3rd down when they are on defense or after a touchdown. Not us. Some 3rd downs it feels like you can here the QB yelling the plays....and I sit on the East Side.

And they're still starting the red/black thing when we're about to get the ball. Is it that hard to wait until after we score or punt?

Don't feel bad....their loss. You should never be ashamed to being enthusiastic and standing up occasionally. Keep it up big dude and I will be a few rows higher as well standing up on critical downs.

Exactly...but if you want to stand for the entire game, go to the East side.

I'm on the west side and I stand up often enough. I don't see a need to stand on every 3rd down (I do yell) but to each their own. If people in front of me stand on 3rd down, I'll stand.

The complaining about the west side kills me. Go to any college game in and the student section will be on their feet more than the alumni/local fan sections. And that's the way it should be.

Absolutely not. We need to change the culture on the West Side. I'm not saying stand the whole game, but people look annoyed when I stand up on 3rd downs. Get your butts up and make some noise on Defense.

The participation for "And that's a Huskie First Down!" is 10x better than it was my first year in the band.

And I am encouraged by the 10-15 minute Red and Black chant. Yeah yeah don't do it on offense, but when it starts on defense and keeps going I'm cool with it.

Just keep up what we're doing and build on it. Gotta do it one game at a time. One win at a time. One season at a time.

You are not a bad guy! It's just that people are different and have different desires and expectations from attending a football game. There's a guy by me (who IS an idiot) who yells so loud on every play that they could probably hear him across campus. But, he's a good fan, so it's all cool by me.

Next time, I suggest you come by me and I'll let you stand on my shoulders.

I know who you're talking about. The band can hear that guy across the field. Or at least I know I can.
Hmm....wondering if that guy is me

In all reality being a " a little cocktailed up " and mouthing off to someone who wants to enjoy the game as much as you do makes you a bad guy for probably spoiling their afternoon for having to confront a drunk. I have never seen any AD from Bob Brigham to our current AD ever give any fan an honorary game ball for being the loudest fan who stood up the longest.

Bad guy, no. Inconsiderate JACKA$$ A$$HOLE, yes.

I have no idea the f'n obsession with people standing up to cheer. Are you louder? You are ASKED to sit down, then raise a stink with older people? Real nice.

I had the same shi% happen as the MACC game vs. Miami. My parents in their 70's were with me. My mom is about 5'0 on a good day, with arthritis and some tools in their 20"s were asked nicely to sit since they couldn't see. There was no one in front of them, was just them middle of like the 3rd quarter. Then they basically told us to f' off. Sure, like you self admittedly "had a few." Nice excuse. NIU FANS no respect to. Grow the f' up.

I am in my 40's and not about to start a fight. But I hope one day, and I am sure it has happen, one of you jacka$$e get punch in your face. Better yet, hope you grow old enough to be able to go to a game in your 70's then have a dic% ruin your experience. Yeah, you all will have something smartass to say now, but when it happens to you or someone close to you, I am sure, like when YOU stand, YOU can't see, it will all be about YOU!

And I guess I missed it the 1st time, but were you not in your correct seats? If not, you got balls to even ask if you were wrong, and the idiots who think you are right are just as bad.

I got that impression too. It is completely wrong for him to do that in the first place but if they weren't even their seats(which it seemed to be the case) it is doubly wrong.

RE: Am I a bad guy?
The reality is some people like to stand and cheer all the time.
Some stand and cheer on important plays or on 3rd or 4th down
and some like to remain sitting (whether it be choice or physical limitation)

Maybe we should start asking huskies fans their preference so we can all get more enjoyment out of games. Seems like an easy question to ask and everyone wins.

I sit in the chairbacks at the 48 yrd line. Players families used to sit in front of us(Horvaths mom hated us) and with us (sat next to JMacs folks) but i dont think so now.

a lot of those west side fans have been there way before you knew what a huskie is. they have been there trough thick and thin. So no one has to change any culture on the west side.

i don't think anyone has a right to stand the entire game and block views. if you want to do that then find the area where they stand all the time.

I run into this all the time, even on the East side. The worst was this year at the homecoming game. I was front row 50 yard line East side. Was told to sit down by fans and by security. Now that is inexcusable.

This happens to me at most road games as well. I usually need to move to a seat (when possible) where I can stand the entire game without being yelled at.

I'll never understand the need to stand the entire game.

When I'm 50 years old, if I have some ******* standing in front of me while I'm trying to watch the game I'd be pissed too.
