No, not for halloween .....but the voice of band director Baugh on PA is rather lame & .... when I hear his "Pride of Midwest" it makes me think of another application of Pride...turn over the task to a more exciting powerful voice which resonates ...like Baker's '.,.

Wonder if more than a few college marching bands this yr featured music from works of Michael Jackson...I 'm still in awe of tOSU MJ show and moon walk...

Thank you so much!!!

As for Dr. Bough announcing, it was because Paul Bauer (The voice of the HMB) had a conflict because he is the director of the School of Music. Don't worry, it's not a permanent thing!

I wish the band would play longer. After the FG kicker was done, there was still over ten minutes on the clock.

I wish they'd let you guys play longer. There's nothing going on on the field for like ten minutes.

OH yeah! We get off the field and actually give the band some snacks because they get pretty gassed (cheerin' an all :) ) so yeah. They get a break until about a minute into the third quarter.

Nice that you wish they'd play longer, but the poor kids need a chance to go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, eat something & just take a bit of a rest. They work their butts off up there in the stands and down on the field. :-)

I believe if we had a urinal trough along the field sidelines, that problem would be fixed. (Yes, it would be for both sexes!) Plus, it could be beneficial to the players who need to relieve themselves during the game. I am so intrigued by this idea that I may underwite it myself. I wonder where I can send my donation?

#1 What exactly do you mean "makes me think of another application of Pride"?

#2 Dr. Bauer is usually the announcer for HMB and if he wasn't there ...had to have been a good reason. Perhaps YOU sir would like to try announcing yourself if you were displeased with Dr. Bough?
This was a rather lame criticism IMHO.

The Band did a nice job and I always love seeing them. Without HMB gameday would not be as fun or as exciting.

# I) will leave the Q to one's own interpretation....and yes some male voices are less suited for PA than others and I gladly accept the offer , challenge and guest announcer spot ...
On the flip side of criticism I thought Brad Hoey did a fine job as PA announcer for bball games...Give him a shot if he so desires the role...

#2) Why is it lame to critique a weak performance...Bough should stick to what he does best

YES I enjoyed the halftime show and often remain after games for post game performance as well. Like with the Huskie football team it's all about supportimg and appreciating the students...

Cybes, it just seemed to me that you have been "picking on" the HMB recently...and as a former band parent I am obligated in my mind to jump to their defense. No hard feelings. :-) 04-cheers

RE: BOOO !!!!
i truly "get that" on the one hand and merely want for the HMB to get bigger, stronger and to do so faster ......

Criticisms can be merely mean spirited and negative for the sake of it or perhaps eventually lead to positive change.

Football has come a long ways in a decade.

HMB is stuck in another time and place in many areas and if not moving forward and together it's falling behind.

Ever since the OHIO band appeared in HS I imagine and long for what the NIU could be ...

Being average is simply no longer good enuff...

Hats off to them for last performance..an improvement with room to grow in yrs ahead...At least Meliguena and other Latin numbers have disappeared awhile for now...its american football and not a soccer match

My son takes lessons from one of the band members in the drum line. Chris. He's awesome with young kids! My son is only 8. Chis is a lot more patient than me. My son is doing awesome as well and loves the drums. Possible future Huskie Band Member.

Mr. Komos?

Yep. Going to his recital Sunday. He's been great for my son! Absolutely loves him. They share a similar personality, which is cool. Just kind of connected from the start. At least from Cole's (my son's) perspective.
