It's really a shame to see David injured so often. As he showed early in the BG game, he can run against about any defense. I'd rate him with Chester Taylor and Wasean Tate as the best Rocket backs in the last 40 years. Parmele and Thomas not too far behind. I hope he gets a decent shot in the NFL, but one thing they are looking for is durability.

Hunt's pretty amazing as a true freshman. Jones-Moore does a real nice job between the tackles.

Even with the injuries, Flu has had a great couple seasons for UT. He has meant so much to the success of the Rockets. I am proud to have his # on my Toledo jersey. Without trying to be disrespectful to Eastern, I think if he were healthy he'd end up with some pretty good numbers this coming Saturday. Having said that: I'd rather have a more-healed & healthy Flu against Northern, so while I hope his injury isn't severe enough to require that he sit out the Eastern game, I'm hoping he does stay on the sidelines this week--Hunt and Jones-Moore have shown that they can carry the load.

Eastern gives up a lot of points, so I should think Flu could get some well deserved R&R time next Saturday. Then, of course, we don't play Buffalo until a week from the Tuesday following, so there is a little extra time there for him to heal.

Got a feeling we will need him for Buffalo, though. It's a little hard to judge how good Buffalo is. They lost to OSU and Baylor, and there's certainly no disgrace in that. Other than that, Buffalo has won every game, albeit against some of the worst teams in football this year. The only near quality MAC team they have played was Kent who is 2-7 BUT had very respectable outings against both Northern and Ball state. The Bulls typically put up about 30-40 points per game. They have been fairly stingy on defense, so one has to wonder whether they are actually capable of hanging more on their opponents, but their coach calls off the dogs. Definitely an opponent to take very seriously because it's hard to gauge what they are capable of against better conference opponents.

RE: Fluellen
Any update on Flu? He was in a walking boot on his left leg w/ crutches after halftime. When he first came out they kept working on his left foot/ankle.

Also, in the 2nd half Reedy got a little banged up - he came out of the game and the training staff was looking at his left arm/bicep. They took him into the Sebo Center (complete opposite side of the UT locker room, so maybe they were doing an x-ray or something in the Sebo Center?). He came out about 5-10 minutes later and obviously returned to the game.

Hope they didn't take him to Wood County Hospital, the official hospital of BG sports.

Kent has us feeling pretty solid because like you say they have had a world beater schedule and held up well in the losses.

But before we play you we will have Ohio so everyone will have a better idea of who UB is before we hit the glass bowl.

You are right about Quinn calling off the dogs. The exception was UMass where he ran Oliver 41 times. When Buffalo has had a big 4th quarter lead Licata comes out, Neutz comes out, and usually Oliver is out.

But it's not the offense you have to worry about, it's the defense.

UB is giving up 25 yards a series since Baylor game. and Kent is the first team to score more than 14 regulation on us since Baylor.

Hopefully we march into Toledo at 7-2 and healthy and the rockets are healthy and winning so whoever walks out with the W has a feather in their cap at Bowl selection time.

I'd be tempted to give Flu a couple hand-offs so he can get his 100 yds for the game but I think the game is going to be on TV I and it's not worth the risk him tripping over the yellow first down line those tv people put on the field.
