Very nice, this will help us a lot in BCS. And this is after beating EMU!

Not going to lie, I though we would have closed the gap a bit more than that... But it should still be enough to get us ahead in the BCS where it matters.

NIU went from 298 to 373 points.

Fresno went from 532 to 542.

If my math is correct, here is the coaches poll share for each:

NIU last week: .192
NIU this week: .241

Fresno last week: .343
Fresno this week: .350

I did a little math last weekend assuming NIU and Fresno did not gain or lose on each other this weekin the computers and then figured how many votes NIU would need to gain in each poll to close the gap with Fresno. If you assume the gap is closed evenly by both Coaches and Harris, NIU would have needed 80 votes to make up in Coaches and 137 in Harris. Looks like we made up 65 of that 80 in the Coaches. Tonight's BCS will be a near tie I would imagine.

Same type of thing will happen in the Harris. Plus, the Huskies will gain or hold steady with the computers. It helps that Iowa won while Boise and Rutgers lost. We will pass Fresno State this week.

I have a feeling Fresno stays ahead of NIU but just by the narrowest of margins. Fresno probably makes up a little on the computers and while we closed the gap with the humans, probably not enough to overtake them. It really should be something like 0.01 difference though.

This is great news as I think it will give voters a reason to make a conscious decision of us versus Fresno. All things considered, if we keep winning, I am more and more liking our body of work versus their body of work.

I agree and I get the numbers. My cursory look really indicated that NIU would jump Fresno. The variable was what would happen with Tx tech and UCLA and I was a bit off with their drops.

Even if we are behind. We get the advantage of playing ball state on national TV on the 13th. All we can do is WIN.

With Toledo and Ball State winning yesterday our SOS for our remaining games is leaps and bounds better than Fresno.

I'm starting to believe we pretty much control our own destiny. Our remaining SOS is better, and we have more to gain in the polls than they do. I think we will be above them tonight and the rest of the year if we keep winning.

We have 4 ESPN2 appearances left. It's probably a first impression for many voters so hopefully we don't come out flat.

Need to root for every MAC west team over every east team, and every east team we play over east teams we don't. Thousandths of a point matter.

Fresno is #18.

NIU went from 298 to 373 points.

Fresno went from 532 to 542.

If my math is correct, here is the coaches poll share for each:

NIU last week: .192
NIU this week: .241

Fresno last week: .343
Fresno this week: .350

For the Harris poll:

NIU last week: .197
NIU this week: .250

Fresno last week: .351
Fresno this week: .371

Our poll average this week is .2455 vs. .1955 last week.
Fresno's poll average this week is .3605 vs. .3470 last week.

If the computers are exactly the same as last week, it will be:

Fresno - .347
NIU - .337

I don't see how the computers could be exactly the same as last week. Ours should improve with Iowa winning, theirs should regress with both of their "big" wins now looking less impressive than ever.

The problem though is that with Anderson-hester it is based exclusively on SOS so we actual are hurt by the fact just that this week's games were played.
