I'm very proud that niu had a moment of silence for the emu player. First class all the way!

Agreed it was a very moving tribute. And the moment of silence was perfect, not a word could be heard. Eastern and Northern players heads were bowed and all were very respectful. It was something that made one proud to be a Huskie, no matter what the outcome of the game would have been. Along with the game, that's really the news that all should know. It's good to see how we can act as a Huskie community. I'm thankful my (freshman!) daughter was there to see it.

I talked to a few people in the band. It was incredible how silent the crowd was. Good on NIU. Proud.

Maybe you know...why do the Silverettes only perform in the end zone and not on the field?

The Silverettes DO do a routine on the field each game. And they are of course with the band during pre-game. halftime & post game.

I am glad we had to moment of silence as well. Very nice. As well as President Baker giving a game ball to EMU for DeMarius's parents.

I'll tell you what...we also showed some class by taking a knee to give them the ball back at the end of the 4th Qtr. We were in scoring position again and could have scored instead...took a knee. Very classy move.

I was so proud of absolutely everything NIU did on Saturday.

Yes, of course. My nephew was just asking why their game routine isn't performed on the 50 instead of the 10.
