Miami already recruits better than UC and dominates the rivalry...Being the "other BCS school" in Ohio is going to do nothing to dwarf Ohio State's prominence.

Here we go. 01-wingedeagle

Dominates the rivalry?

The last 10 seasons: UC has won 5, Miami has won 5. Boy, that's some domination. Now, they have won the last 4 out of 5 - and all but the last 2 years were close games - each team getting a blowout win.

Sep. 28th, 1996 Miami (OH) 30 - 23 W
Oct. 25th, 1997 at Miami (OH) 34 - 31 W
Oct. 24th, 1998 Miami (OH) 0 - 41 L
Oct. 30th, 1999 at Miami (OH) 52 - 42 W
Oct. 28th, 2000 Miami (OH) 45 - 15 W
Sep. 22nd, 2001 at Miami (OH) 14 - 21 L
Oct. 5th, 2002 Miami (OH) 26 - 31 L
Sep. 27th, 2003 at Miami (OH) 37 - 42 L
Sep. 11th, 2004 Miami (OH) 45 - 26 W
Sep. 28th, 2005 at Miami (OH) 16 - 44 L

I do not think you will see UC and Miami (OH) in the same football conference again.

Guess Penn State or Florida State could never make Cyberbull's ideal conference since they didn't have and mostly still don't have a "concrete" stadium.

Tough standards....

when
When USF acutally builds an on campus stadium, then they can talk, that wont' be for at least another 11 years. They need to focus bringing their baseball stadium up to high school levels.

ECU replaces Boston College in the ACC and the Big 10 truly becomes the Big 10 with 10 schools.
Why not just have South Florida replace BC in the ACC? If you really want it to be more Northeastern, they have to go.
Very simple, you need a foothold in Florida for recruiting. Just ask WVU, Rutgers, UConn and Louisville.
Then forget about the sleazy lying backstabbing traitors from BC. Let them wither and die on the ACC cashvine. Just go with my idea of two schools in Florida. Having only one "foothold" down there is not enough. It was problematic when only Miami was here. It will prove problematic as long as only South Florida is here. We need either two Florida schools or no Florida schools. No more half-baked compromises. Those only lead to regrets every time. Big East history proves this quite often.

I'd scratch Temple and UCF for ECU and Memphis. Memphis has a history with Louisville and Cincinnati, while ECU is more in line with the region. UCF may be a candidate for later on, but I'd take Memphis and ECU before I'd take UCF. However, since I have no say so what so ever it's kind of academic, isn't it.

I would scratch Temple for Penn State if you really want to be in line with what Maize was suggesting. East Carolina is not in line with any region in my suggested line-up. They would be completely on an island. As for Memphis having history with Cincinnati and Louisville, Texas has history with SMU, but you'll never see them in the same league again in the future either. Some things are meant to change. Waxing nostalgic doesn't move anyone into the future.

Do you really think Penn State will leave the Big Ten? I don't.

I am sure that Louisville and Cincinnati would welcome their old rival with a few butt kickings. They would probably get a real kick out of that.

As for moving into the future, don't move in the wrong direction. Remember the dodo bird.

That is why these are dream conferences. Temple is the school that the Big East can realistically get in 2010. Penn State is the school that the Big East would cream the bed to get in 2010. As for the dodo birds, well, they were probably waxing nostalgic.

1. Louisville

3. USF

Wow, what a lousy championship game that would be!

I tried to get a good mix of old and new. I knew I could not separate Pitt and WVU. I wanted to separate the Florida schools to ensure a trip to Florida for everyone each year. I figure that UCF and USF would still be permanent rivals and play each year. The same might go for WVU and Marshall. The west is stronger than the east, but in time maybe the east could hold it's own. The weakest link in this conference in my opinion is Marshall. I did a mock schedule with 8 conference games and 4 non-conference games (from this years schedule).

Right off the bat you have to keep louv & WV in seprate div. right now thier B-E marque schools. I think Louv is going to hold up Exp, much like Metro.

Louisville and WVU need to be in seperate divisions so they can both make the championship game and play each other. I would put Pitt in the other division too and make them WVU's other permanent rival besides Marshall.

short sighted people
Some of you are being so short sighted. Why do you keep listing 12 team conferences? There are not four schools out there that the Big East can actually get who would make doing such a thing worthwhile.

Trying to put Louisville and West Virginia in separate divisions so they can meet in a championship game is ridiculous. Just because they may be the best teams now doesn't mean they will always be the best.

If you have to artificially manipulate divisions, to make sure two teams get into a championship game every year, there should not be 12 teams. A really strong conference would never worry about things like that.

What I want to see the Big East look like in 2010:

Big East
*Central Florida
Cincinnati
*East Carolina
Louisville
*Memphis
Pittsburgh
South Florida
Syracuse
West Virginia

Of course, that also means I'd like to see the ACC look like this in 2010:

ACC Atlantic
Boston College
Clemson
Florida State
Maryland
NC State
*Rutgers
Wake Forest

ACC Coastal
*Connecticut
Duke
Georgia Tech
Miami
North Carolina
Virginia
Virginia Tech

Politically they would never take three CUSA teams after just taking five. That will never happen. There will not be any changes in these leagues for years to come.
