Football Game 8: Mercer 38, Campbell 31---FINAL (7-1, 3-1 Pioneer)
This could be Mercer's first road win. Campbell only has 1 win and it's over a non-D1 team. It's not going to be easy though, as Campbell has been putting up some points. Campbell did lose to Valpo in a shootout, I believe the final score was in the 40's. So if Mercer can hold Valpo's offense down, I don't see why they can't hold Campbell's down as well! Let's go Bears!! Beat that old Atlantic Sun rival!

That was a nice show, I watched the whole thing. Coach Minter made some classy comments at the end. It's really going to come down to the Campbell pass attack.. can Mercer stop it.

Wow what a game! Mercer wins it 38-31. So many big time plays by the Bears, everyone stepped their game up to get the first road win in a very long time!
Official Recap: http://mercerbears.com/sports/fball/2013...1026085m7i
Mercer is now a staggering 7-1 on the season, and 3-1 in the Pioneer Football League. It's amazing what this group has accomplished, and there's still work to be done! 4 more games. Next up, on the road at Davidson.

Yes - those were nice comments he made after, I assume, he had watched some video of the Bears. When interviewed immediately after the Jacksonville game, he said something very close to this when asked about Mercer, "They've done a good job with their schedule. Let's be honest. They've played a lot of D3 teams."
If you want to watch Campbell's video broadcast of the game and listen to their radio announcers' call of a game that I don't think they were actually watching ("Mercer's offensive line doesn't really do anything. They're just short and squatty and not very big. They just kind of get in the way of our defensive players." I guess they 'did nothing' for 320 yards rushing without their #1 RB), you can enjoy that insightful expertise here:

First, welcome to the boards!
Second, thanks for the link. That's funny about their comments. I'm sure it hurts from their perspective that a new team comes in and beats them, and also has more wins in a season than they've ever had.... and we still have 4 games left to add to that total!
