Exclamation Anybody see Chase Rome. . .
. . . wipe out one of the SMU players on our first kick-off return? It was an awesome block! I don't remember Rome being on kick-off returns this season, but wow! The SMU player was a big kid (his # was in the 80's, so I'm guessing a big tight end), and they had to take him to the locker room a few minutes later - he was definitely seeing stars.

I don't remember Rome being on kick-off returns earlier this season, but he and another big guy (can't remember the #) were lined up at 3rd deep middle on the return team, and they both were making some really nice blocks. I'm thinking this was a nice change on the special teams, unless I"m just totally forgetting and they've been on the return team all along.

And how about their goofy kickoff strategy? Were they afraid of our return guy, or is O'Leery just a weird cat?

I had hoped that hit would set the tone for the day and my son made special note of that one. Chase Rome also deflected a pass.

Our seats are on the other end of the stadium and it was a big enough hit that my son saw it and remarked that the Mustang player had no clue where he was as he was walking of the field.

O'Leary is one weird cat if he is in charge of those goofy knockoffs. Wonder what Jones thinks about those goofy kickoffs

There was a lot of popping going on in the second half. If we had started the game with that attitude it might have been a different outcome.
