Eli traded to NYG.. Was a Charger for maybe an hour. Long enough, imo.

Next time, Archie, you and the agent keep your noses out of it. You looked bad, son. Like Kurt Warner's wife, or Allen Iverson's momma.

Congrats, Eli. Here's to a NFL hall of fame career! 04-cheers

The Giants got fleeced, actually a very smart move by the Chargers, anyway you look at it. I have read some folks say why did the Chargers even draft him if they were going to trade him, it is called bargaining power. Not only did they get a qb who is also first round material, they got 3 more picks out of the Giants. Now everyone should be happy, except for the Giants when they wake up in the morning from their Eli hangover and realize what they gave up. Yowsa. Basically the Chargers took full advantage of the fact Eli did not want to play for them, and folks were saying the Chargers management was dumb.

I agree LR. I don't know if this was simply a pubilicity thing in the long run, but the Manning's looked pretty bad for a while there. The Chargers made out like bandits in this whole deal though.

I don't see anything wrong with anything Archie and the rest of the family has done. (Ole Southern families used to "always" look out for each other.) Archie didn't want to see Eli suffer the way he did.

Look at the fit that John Elway threw in refusing to go to the Colts when he was drafted - I certainly don't think it hurt his career. As long as Eli can produce, I don't think all this fuss will make a whole lot of difference. It is a little out of character but Eli ought to tell everyone to stuff it!

Archie is just like Robert Young - "Father Knows Best". :D

I agree Rebstill. I wouldn't want my son playing for a lame team and a lame coach for starters. If it can be done then do it.

While I'm not an ole miss fan by any means, I understand Archie's stance on this. He has more experience than anyone on earth when it comes to knowing what can happen to a QB in the NFL with no O-Line in front of him.

Well, he DID play for the Ain'ts. 03-lol

Before I get jumped on, I am a Saints fan. 'Course, I also like the Falcons and the Titans, but I grew up with the Saints.

I liked the Saints because of Archie and I love to see McAllister have good games but I have always loved the Raiders. I especially liked them back in the old days of Jack Tatum, Ben Davidson, John Matuzac (sp.), Carl Weathers, Ted Hendrix, Lester Hayes, Howie Long, Kenny "Snake" Stabler, Dave Casper, Gene Upshaw, Jim Otto, etc. They were soooo BAD but soooo good.

[FONT=Geneva] Archie did not want to get into this stuff. It was the chargers who called him and asked him to come up there in the first place. It was Eli's decision and it was a good decision. And people keep saying he broke all these rules but the draftees have a choice of sitting out the next year and going into the draft next time. And whats wrong with eli saying that he didnt want to play for the chargers. thats not breaking any rules. Have y'all seen the articles that people have been writing about the mannings? its HORRIBLE! Congratulations to Cooper, Ellen, and big sister May for their new son Archibald Charles Manning whom they will call Arch!
