I would not have predicted Tulane and North Texas doing this well, or Tulsa and USM doing this badly.

You don't have anything to do with C-USA. If I wanted the rankings outside of C-USA I would have listed them.

Not hostility just trying to help you out. Usually, if you click on a board that says C-USA, and then click on thread that says C-USA, it is for the discussion of C-USA. You learn something new every day.

RE: C-USA BCS Rankings
So it looks to me like if a CUSA (or any G5) team finishes in the top 100 its a decent year. Top 75 is pretty good and top 50 is really good. Is that accurate? How do you non-bcs old timers look at rankings?

I don't think North Texas or Rice is better than Marshall right now.

Out of 120 teams, top 100 isn't decenter.
Top 100 would be "bad"
Top 75 would be "decent"
Top 50 would be "pretty good"
Top 35 would be "great"
Anything other than that pretty much explains itself.

Agree with fedale. I don't know how to look up past years BCS rankings for all teams, but for the last 3 years the C-USA champ has finished ranked in at least one of the human polls. In 2 of the last 3 years the C-USA runner up has also finished ranked.
2010: #21 UCF, #24 Tulsa
2011: #20 USM, #18 Houston
2012: #25 Tulsa
Would be nice to continue that trend. No one is super close right now but Marshall, Tulane, Rice, and ECU have good chance to get there if things go right for them. North Texas could also get there if they don't drop another game.
C-USA Champs also finished the season ranked in
1998: #9 Tulane
1999: #14 USM
2001: #17 Louisville
2002: #23 TCU
2004: #6 Louisville
And before the BCS
1997: #19 USM

At least be honest, you're trying to pimp Louisiana-Lafayette.

It still kills me we finished 12-0 in 1998 (the first year of the BCS) and didn't get to go to a BCS bowl - they just didn't know what to do with us. We finished the season ranked #7 in both the AP and Coaches poll.

Here are your regular season wins.....
1998-Tulane (CUSA)
Cincinnati (2-9)
Southern Methodist (5-7)
Navy (3-8)
Southern Mississippi (7-5)
Louisville (7-5)
Rutgers (5-6)
Louisiana-Lafayette (2-9)
Memphis (2-9)
Army (3-8)
Houston (3-8)
Louisiana Tech (6-6)
That is about as aweful of a schedule as you can put together. If you guys had played a halfway decent schedule in the regular season I might would have felt bad for you. You would have went to the BCS under the new rules the last few years but it would have been a joke that a team that beat no one would have been there. People can talk crap about the BCS but it opened the doors for teams like this eventually that played no one like that to play in BCS bowls where there was zero access before.
