Here if the link. #1 is Alabama and #2 is Florida State. For GoF for next year Fresno State is 17th & Northern Illinois is 18th.

Interesting. If this was the exact way it ends after the last regular season game it would be Alabam versus Florida State for the (fictitious) championship game. The computers like FS better then everyone.

Also of note, the computers would rank UCF ahead of 4 additional team then the human polls have put them, including Louisville who received a net zero points (throw out high and low scores) from the computers.

Going forward the schedule favors Oregon...UCF just needs to continue winning...do that they are going to a BCS Bowl Game....

Not according to ESPN's Sharon Katz's article.
"Finally, the American Athletic Conference had the largest fall in the Conference Power Rankings after Louisville lost to UCF on Friday. Louisville was carrying the AAC in the polls and the computers after the conference went a combined 19-20 in its out of conference games. With the Cardinals’ loss, and their subsequent fall in the polls, there is a good chance that a non-AQ team will finish ahead of the American Athletic Conference champion in the BCS standings. If that team is also ranked in the top 16, it will be granted an automatic BCS Bowl berth.

Just because Fresno or No Ill can qualify for a bid doesn't mean the AAC loses its automatic bid this year. Our champ is going. Period.

For the last freaking time...the AAC is an AQ League.

Last year NIU was ranked ahead of Louisville the BIG EAST Champion and Wisconsin the B1G Champion and in the Top 16. They earned an Automatic Bid but it takes away from one of the 4 @ Large Bids not from one of the 6 Automatic Bids given to the Champions of the American, ACC, SEC, Big XII, Pac 12 & B1G...03-banghead

The conference that gets hurt is the one the loses an at large bid if NIU or Fresno State take the auto bid. That conference is not known now. I'm thinking it was Nebraska who would have went after Wisconsin won the B10. Instead Nebraska did not go to the BCS game that NIU went to. It did not affect Louisville from going nor will it affect UCF or whoever wins the AAC this year.

I don't know why this concept is so hard for people to understand.

The entire system is screwed up. Good thing we are replacing a bad system with another one that still has problems but is slightly better. The selection committee should be a step in the right direction but until we get a playoff where every conference has an automatic bid college football will continue to have a joke of a postseason.

Agreed. The only good thing about this 4 team playoff is that is opens the door for expansion in the future. Until there is a 16 team playoff where all 10 conference champions are involved, the postseason will continue to be an unfair, incomplete process.

I'd like to see somewhere in between 4 and 16. Eight teams might be perfect.

Having the 16th seed face the number one seed is like the 16th seed facing the 1st seed in the basketball tourney. The 16th seed has never won and never will. Can you see the Sun Belt champion facing off against Alabama, Oregon, or Florida State? Who, other the the top seeds, wants to watch that?

15 seeds have upset 2 seeds a few times.

Nobody wants to see Kentucky face UT-Chattanooga in basketball either... Nobody watches those games but Kentucky fans and UTC fans, and those who really love watching scrimmages. But the amazing thing about college basketball is that every single team has exactly the same ACCESS to a national championship. They can all prove their worth on the court by winning their conference and showing what they have in the NCAA tournament. That goes for North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, and Florida Gulf Coast.

It should be the same way in football. It's not about what you think is necessary, it's about what's fair.

And good grief, would it ever be entertaining...

If both UCF & UL continue winnng (11-1), how could UL not go to a BCS bowl. UCF would be in the top 10 and UL would be ahead of them.

I think if we both win we'll move ahead of UL this week. A lot of voters didn't have UCF on their ballot at all last week artifically lowering our ranking. AP voters were quoted as leaving us off as an oversight. Also Coaches probably didnt even know we beat UL, just saw UL lost.

Computers have us way in front of UL and I think once the other polls catch up, we'll move ahead.

The only way I see GOF participating in the Playoff is if ALL of the p5 are granted a spot for their champion in the playoff...and the highest ranked champion of the G5 (AAC, MWC, MAC, Etc.) is allowed to participate.
It'd most likely mean we'd be the 8th seed every year, but at least it's progress.

I certainly hope we pull ahead of UL after this week, outside of last season affecting the initial rankings, there is no way they should be ranked ahead of UCF right now.

Completely Agree!!!

This way ALL the P5 conferences have their Champ in the game, Plus 3 at large's for the AAC and MW and the Final Top team left out.

It's way to simple so They would NEVER do it.
FlossY out...
