RE: Offense PLAY CALLING need revamping!!!
I believe we have divided team , we have the chosen ones we are promoting as stars and everybody else. With the exception of the offesive line, and Flu who has carried the load, our starters have been less than a good rating. We have wide open recievers, tight ends, and TO rarely throws to them, only Russell and Reedy. Not sure if it is by design or he just can't read the defense. For the last 4 or 5 years all we hear about is great recruits, I believe they are, but their numbers never get called. I doubt most feel like they even matter, just going out and running routes. Look at the roster a lot of them are gone. We have forgotten we can pitch the ball with an option play to our speed guys. We run routes that don't get to the 1st down marker on 3rd downs. Our red zone, is awful due to predictability. Bunch of Fg's for Detmer when we need 7 points. Heck even Western stopped us. When we have a lead like last week and blow it, when we should of never seen overtime tells the whole story. We beat ourselves at Ball State and got lucky last week. Hope we get on track

This is all true... If the Rockets want to knock off bg this weekend, the staff needs to really think outside the box in regards to play calling...
We can have all the 3 star athletes on your roster, but if their talents are not being utilized to the max, then finishing behind NIU and BSU will be the norm from here on out... Those teams seem to do more with less...
This leads me to believe that a shakeup in Matt Campbell's staff in the off season would not be a bad thing for the long term of this program...

Our tight ends have a a total of four catches this year. Remember when Pinkel and A[/b]mstutz had 3 TE sets and we had an offense that really worked?

AMEN on that. We need to give BG some new looks. I believe that we will and all of us will be much happier on Sunday.

I'm not buying the "chosen one" stuff. I think that the offensive problems revolve around the leader (QB) and we don't have any real options at this point of the season. TO just needs to MAN UP, settle down and bring HIS game!

I wouldn't completely blame TO. The receivers have not shown any improvement. Shouldn't players get better every year? How about the young guys? Are they being developed? Reedy and Russell have almost all of the WR catches. Pretty easy to defend for any team.

Correct and u reinforce my point. We have recievers open, but TO is not finding them because he's not working through his full progression. The opposing D knows that he's locking on his primary and maybe seconday and defending as such. Makes their job a whole lot easier. Just watch TO's feet on Saturday. If he plants and throws moving his body with the ball, we win. If he's dancing he's nervous and not seeing the field, we'll probably lose.

If they are not chosen maybe our OC or TO can only remember a couple of numbers off jerseys. Either way mix it up and give defense's a threat we are going to someone else

I am ok if they put several numbers on their wristbands. Just mix it up and make 1st downs. Beat BG by double digits

I commented to my buddy during the game that it was as if we were playing it conservative and saving the good stuff for this week. Hope that's the case.
