These AAC refs need to go back to their high school jobs...

Still don't understand why there was no review, or a TO to force a recall.

SMU knew it was a golden break and rushed to get off the next play
Fuente said it was not a reviewable play since the whistle blew before the fumble.

The whistle blew after. Very blown call. Fuente not wanting to get in trouble with the head office

This ^^^ I was close to the play. Whistle after the fumble, but like Pony94 said, Fuente has already "shot his load" on the officiating to the front office. Also, who knows what the momentum would have been if they had given us the ball, but I doubt it would have made a difference. SMU was only sending 3-4 players to rush on D and our offensive line couldn't even give Paxton 2-3 seconds to throw.......

RE: Worst call I have ever seen
That was a fumble. Smu guy was being tackled but was trying to break free and then he fumbled as the whistle was blown. I just watched the replay on espn3. The official should have never blown the whistle even when he did. He blew it. Plain and simple.

The fumble that was ruled not a fumble could have made a difference. Smu had the tiger defense rattled, and they finally made a big play. If we score a FG or TD there, it's 24-6 or 24-10. Instead it quickly turned to 31-3. The tiger spirit on defense was completely broken at that point. Halftime was needed to stop the bleeding.

I still think smu would have won. They played better for most of the game on both sides of the ball.

RE: Worst call I have ever seen
Poor play in the 2nd quarter absolutely doomed MEMPHIS; it is extremely hard to climb out of a 31-3 hole. But, as usual, borderline or blown calls are magnified when a team is trying to climb out of the hole.

MEMPHIS has had thus far this season at least 10-12 seriously horrible calls OR non-calls work against them. Killer calls. Calls that end a drive or a comeback attempt or bring back a huge play or TD. It is especially frustrating to see calls made against the TIGERS that are NOT made against the opponent (ob "late" hits, pass interference).

It is reaching a point where you honestly wonder if the officials in general are targeting MEMPHIS for openly complaining to the director of officials each week.

fact of the matter is, we have a rep for not being any good. Officials are human. 50-50 calls usually go the way of the team that's perceived to be better.
