Rose

Ohio State vs Clemson

NCG

Florida State vs Oregon

Orange

LSU vs UCLA

Sugar

Alabama vs UCF/Fresno

Fiesta

Baylor vs UCF/Fresno

I guess there could be a scenario where the Sugar Bowl could take a Fresno over a UCF so that Baylor would get UCF? A little scary to think that if Bama fell out of the national championship hunt but still won the SEC, it would not be impossible for Fresno or even an NIU to draw them in the Sugar given the possible less appeal of a UCF to the Sugar Bowl folks? If you were on the Sugar Bowl committee and you had to pick between NIU/Fresno and UCF which would you pick?

ACC - Orange Bowl
Big Ten - Rose Bowl
Big 12 - Fiesta Bowl
Pac 12 - Rose Bowl
SEC - Sugar Bowl

This year's pick order: Orange, Sugar, Fiesta

The first selections go to the bowls that lose teams to the National Championship game. In your scenario, that would mean the next selection would go to the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl. Rose Bowl would replace with another PAC 12 team and Orange Bowl would likely replace with the ACC. So, using the teams in your scenario...

NCG - Florida State vs Oregon
Orange - Clemson (replace Florida State) vs LSU (first pick)
Rose - UCLA (replace Oregon) vs. Ohio State
Sugar - Alabama vs. UCF (I assume picked over Fresno because UCF is closer to New Orleans)
Fiesta - Baylor vs. Fresno State

The only thing stranger than MD's BCS obsession is NIUBrad's obsession with MD.

Ahhh obsession? Well Yeah I guess I get carried away some time. When this whole BCS talk started last year, something just clicked inside me in terms of my feelings toward it. How often in the MAC do we see the best teams get a crappy bowl and then the 3rd and 4th best teams get a semi less crappy bowl. At least with the BCS , there was a link between results on field and reward, something we never see in the MAC! It got me excited.

Jerry Palm's take on the Louisville loss...

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...linois-too

Quote:However, this also means there is a very good chance that an undefeated Fresno State and/or Northern Illinois will finish ranked ahead of the American conference champion, which means that the higher rated of those two would only have to be in the top 16 to be automatically into the BCS as well. If either were to finish unbeated, it's very likely that team would be in the top 12 anyway, but now there is likely to be a cushion in case that doesn't happen.

Pretty sure I know the answer but what happens if Fresno finishes in the top 12 and we finish in the top 16?

Yeah I suppose my post didn't make much sense. I forgot that they'll only let the top ranked non-AQ team into the BCS. That would suck ass if both schools finish in the top 16.

It's dangerous to let someone as ignorant as him spout off so much nonsense without calling him out. Yes, this is just a message board, but it would be nice to have factual based conversations instead of someone like MD who lives in his own alternate reality. Sure, everyone knows he is a nutjob, but it doesn't make it OK for him to keep doing it. He's kind of like a David Koresh (sp?). He's so far gone and disjointed from reality that there's really no getting him back. But I'll keep trying.

I do spout off at people that are purposely malicious with their ignorance. Sometimes I just mess with someone so much that they hold an everlasting grudge against me. Some people you just can't change, which is why its good to laugh at some people and correct those that have the capability of change.
