Wow, just wow. Unbelievable what the young man and his family have endured. A must read.

Wow...heart-wrenching, inspiring, and another reason why I support ODU football in any way I can. Not just football players, men playing football.

What a way to gain some perspective about the things we all complain about in our lives.

I hope Brian Morrell gains some great memories from his time in Pittsburgh.

For those like me that are annoyed by the fact that you can no longer read articles online, you can get the pilot online app and still read them.

I will download the app. Stopping the page before it finishes downloading only works a limited number of times.

Wow. Inspiring and heartbreaking all in one article.

It's rare to read news anymore and feel anything but antipathy.

This really gives you the right perspective on life in general and how football and sports in General can be both pointless and EXTREMELY meaningful at the same time.

Great article, it really makes you understand how lucky most of us are to avoid such devastating circumstances and really teaches you to learn compassion for your fellow man. I will be rooting for Mr. Morrel both on the field and in life that much harder from this point on.

He is the definition of a real monarch.

03-thumbsup Very well expressed Razor. Hs family seems to have a fantastic grasp on life and it's ups and downs.

Great article! As Razor mentions, it is so refreshing to see a story transcend sports and sure makes you proud to be a Monarch.

As I was reading this I couldn't get it out of my mind that Brian may not be able to be in attendance for Senior Day. Hopefully someone can do something to make that happen!

Sadly because of the utterly worthless NCAA, I don't believe anyone affiliated with odu could pay for his family member to come down here.

And god forbid the NCAA use some common sense and make an exception, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes I agree, that is why I didn't many any specific implications. It wouldn't financially benefit the NCAA whatsoever so you know ODU would get in trouble. They are so mad at Texas A&M right now they can't wait to throw the hammer down on someone with a smaller profile.

Exactly. Between the NCAA's complete inability to control UNC, Texas A&M, and now Alabama( 2 game suspension for a player who was paid by a coach - really???!!!!!), we little guys could face the death penalty for sneezing on a NCAA logo......
