...one team/school honoring a player from another team.

We will wear a 77 sticker on our helmets Sat to honor Cinci OL Ben Flick who passed away earlier this season. pic.twitter.com/47BixR2Sv5

Not sure if it's just for Saturday's game, or if UConn will keep it all year.

Two years ago, UConn's women's B-Ball team did something similar when the OK-State women's B-Ball head coach and assistant coach died in a plane crash. They wore this patch all season.

UConn interim HC was as assistant at UC last year. He recruited Flick to Cincinnati.

Western Michigan wore a 77 sticker on their helmets last week. But I'm sure UC appreciates the response/gesture by UConn. It is very classy.

I seem to recall a moving tribute on the part of Rutgers for UConn when their player was murdered the week before UConn and Rutgers played. And likewise, I think UConn did something to honor Eric LeGrand when he was paralyzed.

Overall, I think there is a lot of class in this conference.

It was WVU who honored Jasper. They went above and beyond and a lot of UConn fans will never forget that game despite the loss.

Classy. Love the move. Never really had any feelings toward UConn, positive or negative, but this definitely moves the needle in the positive direction a lot.

Fantastic move. Would be nice if the whole conference did that. Thanks UConn!

RU put a sticker on their helmets in memory of Jasper as well. He was life long friends with one of our receivers. I think it was Tim Brown, who he grew up with.
