Not that this is any guarantee of anything going forward, but according to this Evans is graduating early and enrolling at NIU in January. More likely he stays based on this information.

Evans is the fourth known in-state verbal commitment for the NIU Huskies Class of 2014. Evans joins Proviso West tight end Denzel Tolliver, Bishop McNamara LB Robbie Odeneal Jr. and and Wheaton South quarterback Ryan Graham.

Good to hear commits talk about the quality of the football program and the family atmosphere at NIU. Seem to be two big draws for recruits, coupled with the academic success of athletics and the new facilities.

Does he play DT? If so, he may be a starter for us sooner than any of us think especially since he is elgible for spring ball.

That would be wonderful if he could come in and play DT for us. Presently and in recruiting, that seems to be our biggest need.

I'm wondering if that's exactly what the staff is thinking. If so this could be even more of a major get than any of us have thought. With his size 6'4" 295, he could be huge for us out of the box next year.

Agreed. Need some depth and size at DT. Whatever they decide, seems like a good get and another quality kid for the Huskies.

check that guys birth certificate...looks too big and mature for high school football.

heck yes!!!! another PR alum (like myself, Brian Van Acker, and Sean Folliard) making the very intelligent decision to become a Huskie!!!!! Makes total sense (I mean, Wolves and Huskies really are like the same dog, right???)
