OT- Looks Like Sanity Will Prevail
It actually looks like Congress will do something rational and reopen the government and avoid defaulting on the full faith and credit of the United States. Whew! Some people thought that although Congress has shut down the government before, that they would never let the U.S. default on its debts. I for one wasn't so sure, as this bunch seems to have more of the true lunatic fringe, or just flat out idiots, in it than ever before. If they get this done I will be very glad to have been wrong, even though shutting the government down for over two weeks cost the country tons of money and accomplished nothing.

The far right and far left are killing the country fighting over what music the band will play as the ship goes down.

You are right. Most Americans want things in the middle. Neither far right or left.

Amend the constitution. Term limits for all politicians. Then you won't have to put up with some of them for fifty years to life. Most of them should be serving fifty to life in the pen. No more of congress voting for pay raises for themselves.

The jerrymandering of Congressional districts, along with the unlimited ability of PACs to spend money has really taken our system of government down the tubes.
