Not one mid-major representative...What a load of bull****!!! This is just the "BCS Reloaded"....Call me when they at least get to 8 team qualifications, then maybe, just maybe, I'll entertain their elitist, myopic asses! Until the national championship becomes just that...NATIONAL?!

RE: Playoff Selection Committee Named
All the more reason why I wish that the commissioners of all non-cartel conferences (Sun Belt, Mountain West, WAC, MAC, Conference USA, Atlantic 10, The Ivy League & coming soon, the "AACk!") could or would get together and figure out a way to form their own governing body and create an 8-team playoff system among themselves, comprised of all conference champions?

They surely aren't going to be allowed to dine at that other "table!" Not that I give a flying ****!

Hell, if we can have 10 heavyweight champions in boxing (I know it's a cesspool, but it is still a prime example), and college football still want to select by-committee their own "mythical national champion", man, what I would love to see this set in motion to separate from their bull*** and come to fruition, then, like Joe Clark, tell the BCS to go straight to hell!

I don't even really follow college football as a whole anymore. I pretty much just watch ECU and other C-USA games. It is such a corrupt system and the playing field is so slanted that I don't give a rats ass what any of the P5 teams are doing. It boggles my mind that there is a sport (specifically a college sport) that doesn't even make an effort to appear as if they support fair play. I mean the idea of sport is the thrill of competition. Why eliminate competition with red tape and biased committees. Oh yeah it's all about money now. Money that goes everywhere but to the school's (not the athletic departments) that are supposed to be the basis of all this.

I don't even care that she is on the committee but why go outside of the college football world to bring in someone like her when you don't have an AD from every single FBS conference on the committee? It is a massive slap in the face. I guess this is one of the many reasons I could never be an AD, because if I was the AD of a team in a conference that wasn't represented I would be making such a damn stink right now that I would either be fired or my team would be voted out of this sham of a college football division.

03-lmfao Really?! Since when has the "Dixie Mafia" ever cared about the appearance of impropriety? The same ones that 03-hissyfit talk of a "rematch" when Ohio Stink & Michigan were 1 & 2 some years ago, but 02-13-banana at the idea when one of their own was the recipient?

They make me 03-puke, Smaugweiser!

@TheEastIsPurple: Me, either, I'm very much locked and loaded on so-called mid-majors, the only BCS school I care about is Northwestern (beloved family member graduated from there)....The rest of it is an absolute joke, and to hear these media morons gushing about this system week in and out is unbearable for me.

Just like the landscape change in tv programming has left us, college football has turned into the same circus.

Other than USM or conference games, I now tune out the others....fk 'em

You would think you would have one spot on the committee that came from one of the G-5 way before you invited Condi Rice.

Matrix and Purple have it, right, I'm afraid. I only care about the Mid-Majors anymore and wasn't at all surprised by the selection committee choices. I will watch and enjoy a game -- well, enjoy, might be too tough of a word this year -- when WVU is playing, but for the most part the G5 and particularly watching C-USA and AAC games is more than entertaining. I don't need the P5 to be a happy football/basketball camper.

I feel the exact same way. Since all this realignment garbage I can't watch college football anymore. At least not the way I used to. Before this all started I used to wake up watch College Game Day then park myself on the couch either at my house or one of my friends' houses and only moving to order a pizza before the evening games kicked off.

Now if Marshall isn't on TV, a compeling conference game, or WVU getting curb stompped on national tv I can't get invested in it. It just isn't fun anymore. FBS College Football is one of, if not the most corrupt sport in the world. All they care about is money. This committee lost all respect when Oliver Luck was added.

He's busy showing the Mountaineers how to live on little to no food. They sent Oliver Luck in his place.

They probably feel that they have a G5 rep in Mike Tranghese, he was the commissioner of the Big East (1990-2009), when it added football, reloaded from ACC Raid #1, and began expansion plans... Technically the conference he guided IS the American Athletic Conference - same bylaws, constitution, and offices.

Tell me you didn't expect otherwise.

This playoff system is intended to make things even more exclusive.
