RE: NFL Prospects
I don't see stephon getting drafted. I think he barely has a shot at free agency. He doesn't even look the part and his combine numbers won't either . Stanton has a really good chance this year. He is being very aggressive off ball and making plays. Marlowe is for sure getting drafted if he runs between 4.4 and 4.65 ....my opinion.

agree.

Stephon is a great player, but his speed is marginal in FCS. He makes up for it with smart play.

Stanton has the measurables. He'll get an FA shot.

Dean is a big safety, even by NFL standards. If he runs well, he is a top 5 round pick. Shoot, even Cooper Taylor got drafted last year....he was good, but not outstanding. The giants loved his size.

I guess no-one thinks Dae'Quan Scott has a any chance of playing on Sunday? I know he is small, but not sure on how his speed compares.

He's great at our level because he has some quickness and better-than-average vision, but I don't think he's good enough to have a shot at the NFL. I would love to be proven wrong, but he doesn't have the jets for an NFL small guy and he's pretty weak at breaking tackles. Abdullah in my opinion is much more dangerous because it's so hard to bring him down. Again, there's a reason that he's the all-time scoring leader at JMU...he's very good...just not NFL good.

RE: NFL Prospects
I actually think the player Stephon Robertson compares to most closely is Zach Thomas. Thomas was everywhere on the field in college AND pros and was roughly Stephon's size. Other than motor there was no one part of his game that stuck out as exceptional, but he did everything pretty darn well.

Some of these comparisons though are somewhat dated. The NFL is a different league than it was when Bill Bates, for instance, played. It is even quite different than teh Zach Thomas, Pat Tillman NFL!

I dont see Stephon getting drafted, but absolutely see a team giving him a shot.

As fro DQS. No shot. I actually think he has lost a couple of steps. If/when he can get to the outside, he can still turn it up pretty nicely, but he has some difficulty getting from 1st to 3rd gear.

I forgot about Zach Thomas. that is a pretty good comparison- undersized etc. I believe he was about 5'11" and 230 or so as well. 5th round drafted.

I think we have some purple tinted glasses on this topic. I just don't see the pro potential.

Scott, who is making his case for the NFL currently doesn't seem to have that next gear for NFL. I don't know if he is athletic enough to transition from FCS defenders to NFL defenders. I'll have to go watch the tape of his games against our best FCS opponents and FBS opponents.

RE: NFL Prospects
I see Dexter Coakley as a good comparison to Stephon also. He was undersized, played I-aa ball at Appy. Both had/have great LB instincts. I'm in the camp that thinks Stephon gets to a camp, but I don't think he will be drafted. Once in camp, it doesn't matter, just ball!!
