RE: Average attendance as per AAC website
This is USF's lowest attendance since 2006. I can't blame fans coming off the worst stretch in usf history. When USF is winning they have shown they can draw 50k plus. Unfortunately losing has a big drag on attendance.

Maize, you are just seeing the tip of the iceberg for Louisville football attendance. The ACC membership will increase it even more. 07-coffee3

RE: Average attendance as per AAC website
USF averaged 53K one year including several crowds of over 60K. The WVU game in 2007 was a hard sellout of 67K (actual, not a seat left in the house). Several other seasons were between 45-52K average.

Sucks to see rutgers and UL go. Say what you will about their fans, or relative lack of on field success (rutgers) they do provide a nice attendance boost to our lowly figures. I welcome ECU with open arms and hope they can get back to 50K strong next year.

We will sell out every game next year, theres no doubt.

Very optimistic IMO.

UNC at home + the excitement of a new conference... we did it a couple years ago with UAB and the like coming to town

Probably opening the season vs some scrub though too. Guaranteeing a sell out for EVERY home game seems a little silly IMO.

If we can finish strong, well, like we should this year and win a bowl game. And next year have UNC, and say UCF, Cinny, Temple, and SMU at home plus someone like app state, Charlotte as the 6th home game, yes we can.

RE: Average attendance as per AAC website
Conference average attendence with Rutgers and L'Ville about 35,486. Next year they are gone. With all the new schools including Navy in 2015 using this years numbers the average attendence will be about 32,706. The killer is 4 schools in the conference averaging in the low 20k range. With figures like that it is no wonder the AAC has the bowl line up it is producing for 2014-2019. The major bowls have to look at the attendence numbers of the conference and its members when they contract out to project how many seats they will sell for their bowl games. If schools in the conference only average the low 20k region for home games how are they going to bring fans to the bowl games. There are no 100k + stadiums that sell out for home games during the season with fanbases that will usually bring higher numbers of rabid fans to the bowls spending big bucks in the local economy for hotels, resturants, sightseeing, and the nightlife. The AAC has to rebuild itself to draw those fans in and increase their attendance and stadiums at home before it is taken seriously by the larger higher paying P5 type bowls.

Well, think of it in these terms from a conference standpoint......

In round numbers, as Louisville leaves, you guys will be able to step in and fill the +/-50K void that they leave. From a football attendance standpoint, your entry into the conference negates much of what Louisville takes with them when they leave.

On field performance/basketball/etc are and will be gaps yet to be filled.

With games returning to campus in brand new stadiums in 2014, I think both Houston and Tulane are set up to see a significant bump in attendance In addition to the new stadium, Tulane also will enter a new conference with a much improved team. There are reasons to believe Tulanes attendance can improve markedly. Cinci also has a stadium renovation coming that adds some seats, so the Bearcats should see a nice bump when that comes on line.

USF can obviously do better if they improve on the field (since they have done it in the past). Improved performance would likely also help Temple.. Tulsa is what Tulsa is. 20K isn't too bad for the smallest FBS school. It's going to take time to build those attendance numbers at the other AAC schools that don't have an obvious catalyst to trigger improved attendance. The conference attendence average should reach the high 30's pretty quickly with bumps in Cinci, Houston, and Tualne along with a return to form by USF.

It looks like you have WVU at home next year unless something has changed and South Carolina at BAC Stadium. Looks like you have one open slot in the OOC which could be UNC I guess or maybe the other two programs you mentioned. Looks like your OCC is scheduled pretty tough the next few years with various combinations of WVU, VA Tech, South Carolina, UNC and NC State.

We are supposed to from everything I've heard, but we still don't have marked down, so there is still a chance it gets pushed back. WVU signed a 6 game home and home, but now Dana is doing everything he can to get it changed, pushed back, so not counting it just yet.

not that I doubt it but your OOC home games are austin peay and MTSU. Are those games that are typically large draws for Memphis?

@UCLA and @ Ole Miss are great games on the schedule, a real chance for Memphis to get a signature win.

RE: Average attendance as per AAC website
Cincy is over 90% capacity for the year and expecting another near sell out for winless UCONN this weekend.

Not bad for for the year considering our home opponents so far have been Purdue, Northwestern St, Temple, and now UCONN to date.

In the past, Purdue aside, these home games wouldn't have averaged close to even 30K a game. More so considering most of these teams brought next to nothing from a visiting fan perspective. i don't believe even Purdue sold their allotment and Temple/Northwestern St brought hardly anyone. UCONN won't bring much either. So these are people coming to see UC play.

When the Nippert Expansion/Upgrade is done as long as we are decent our attendance will average a lot higher too. Gotta figure some general public will come just to experience the upgrade/expansion. Right now people are coming just to watch UC play which is great. The expansion/upgrade will get additional people for the experience. I see us being able to average upper 30's low 40's once the upgrade is done. If we are good, along with upgrade/expansion we should sell out most games. Great times ahead for UC football I believe.

We SHOULD be coming off an 8+ win season with known schools like UCONN UCF Cincy etc coming to town after having to play FAU FIU ODU etc this year. I think we will come pretty close to a sell out most weeks. Even though USF and UCONN are down year they are still names people know

IF UCONN wasn't always the home team, I bet UCONN would sellout because we all know that UCONN just doesn't have much this year.

Houston must have had 40 at their first game, because there wasn't 6k at the soccer stadium game.
