CAA standings
This year's autobid is anyone's guess. Of the 4 teams ahead of JMU, it looks like Maine has the easiest remaining schedule. The rest will be knocking each other off.

Colonial Athletic Association Standings
Villanova 3-0
Maine 2-0
Towson 2-1
Delaware 2-1
James Madison 2-1
William & Mary 1-1
New Hampshire 1-1
Stony Brook 1-2
Rhode Island 1-3
Richmond 0-2
Albany 0-3

RE: CAA standings
I think the Dukes need to finish with six conference wins.We do not want to be tied with several teams at 5-3.Our strength of OOC schedule will not help us. Must wins against W&M, UNH, Stony Brook and a split with Villanova and Towson.

This was kind of why I was banging my head on the table when people were saying the Akron loss was meaningless.

How do you come up with the "4 teams ahead of JMU" read? 01-wingedeagle

There are only two undefeated teams ahead of JMU in the standings. JMU is tied for 3rd in the standings with UD and Towson.

Yea - but Delaware has the head-to-head tiebreaker.

RE: CAA standings
Delaware loss might be bad. They've looked bad the last 2 weeks. Hopefully they finish 4-4 or worse. If we finish 5-3 we need to beat UNH.

RE: CAA standings
Additionally, while all games haven't been played to determine records vs common opponents, if those end up being a wash (i.e. team A beat team B beat team C who beat team A), then another tiebreaker is road wins in the CAA. Towson has one, JMU does not.

Who knows what happens? I'm inclined to think it will be a cluster at season's end and the autobid is the only guarantee into the playoffs. The Dukes can move a step closer with the all important road win at Bill & Gary two weeks from now.

Sorry, but my original point stands. JMU is not in 5th place, which is what your original post implied. Even with your equivocation, there are not 4 teams ahead of JMU in the standings at this point of the season.

Objectively stated, the standings have JMU tied with 2 other teams in the win column (essential tied for 3rd place), and tied with 5 teams in the loss column. Or, it could be said that JMU is also just one game out of being tied for first place.

The truth is JMU's destiny is entirely in its own hands....should the Dukes beat Nova and Towson, the loss to UD doesn't matter.
