All worthy opponents, but for the most part, opponents the Pirates would "normally" win against.
The problem isn't the schedule or the talent we've had.............its BG, plain and simple. Unless the Pirates get into a regional (at a minimum), I'd expect him to be gone at the end of the season.
I hope they do well for the sake of the players, the fans and the university.
I'm not sure about a lot of those teams, but doesn't UNCW usually have a solid program? I know W&M finished the season ranked and won a game in the tournament (falling to NCSU, eventually). Those losses aren't all that bad.
No slight intended against any of those teams (why I mentioned all "worthy" opponents), but you can't factor how they did last season, when the schedule was put together the year before that (2011).
Example of 2011 standings
Campbell was 17-37 No postseason
Liberty 35-24 No postseason
High Point 24-32 No postseason
UNC-W 31-28 No postseason
William/Mary 26-29 No postseason
ODU 30-26 No postseason
Jacksonville 37-24 Regional (won a game)
Monmouth 36-19 No postseason (good record though)
Not bad at all , but only one of those schools had gone to a regional, so this was probably considered when putting together the 2012 schedule, hence the point of the OP. My main point is not so much the competition that is being scheduled, more than our HC needs to step it up and if he thinks scheduling "down" is gonna help, he's wrong if he can't manage games effectively.
