Hell, there is an offer right now for "Family Pack" up to 3 people.

$15.00 per person gets you a ticket, Soda, and Hot Dog.

Also if anyone is a First responder tickets for them and thier family members are only $5.00.

Also sounds like our Senior CB Keith Reaser has been lost for the season with a Torn ACL. He was a pillar of the Pass D, and his backup is a true Frosh I believe. Shots down field just became easeir for your Offense.

We don't usually take but maybe 1-3 shots at the homerun ball per game, unless we have a free play. Most of our passes are intermediate 10-12 yards or short 5-7 yard passes. But when our offense is in rhythm it can't be stopped.

Marshall just lost another 5th year senior in OL Jordan Jefferies to a hip injury.

I have to say I was one of the people who originally wanted FAU in the CUSA over FIU (but I also later didn't want you guys after FIU was added.) Now, I am happy we have you guys.

Beautiful stadium in a great area. Seem to have nice humble fans. I wish I could make the game but I can't swing it.

My prediction is Marshall- 34 FAU- 17

I think our Florida guys are going to be pumped and focused for this one. They will all want to do good in front of their friends and families.

I expect around 1,000 Marshall fans there.

Jefferies has been solid at OT for the last 2 years. I think he has give up one sack since 2011. He will be missed. From what Ive heard he will still dress and act as a player coach to teach Johansson and Combs his position.

PB post article on Marshall's coach and his ties to S. Florida.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports...lay/nbJkT/

John “Doc” Holliday is coming home.

OK, not technically home, but certainly the second home for the Marshall football coach and famed recruiter.

Nobody has been plucking players out of South Florida longer than Holliday, whose recruiting in this part of the country has boosted West Virginia, N.C. State, Florida and now Marshall, where he is in the fourth season of his first job as a head coach.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, many of Holliday’s current players will perform in front of their friends and family when Marshall, located in Huntington, W. Va., visits Florida Atlantic.

“For 35 years I’ve made a living on these kids,” Holliday, 56, said of his recruits from South Florida. “I love those kids. I love the way they compete. They are tough kids who love football.”

I think this game in a few year may start to be competitive if Pelini stays there. But I think games against MTSU and UAB have been a little fools gold for FAU...

Points Given up Per Game:

Miami 16 (NCAA Rank 12) Gave up 6 to FAU
ECU 22.6 (NCAA Rank 42) Gave up 13 to FAU
USF 34.2 (NCAA Rank 101) Gave up 28 to FAU
MTSU 29.2 (NCAA Rank 81) Gave up 35 to FAU
Rice 27.6 (NCAA Rank 72) Gave up 14 to FAU
UAB 41.3 (NCAA Rank 121) Gave up 37 to FAU

Marshall 17.4 (NCAA Rank 20) Game not Played

In only one game has FAU scored more than the avg points a team is actually giving up and that was against Middle Tenn.

Marshall's defense has been everything most of us were hoping for. It's been really active flying around the ball. They have also been getting their hands up, they knocked 5 balls down against UTSA last week breaking Soza's rhythm up. Marshall has 7 INTs in the 1st 5 games this year, all of last year they only had 6.

Here is for hoping for a good clean game.

IMO the reason that gamblers make money is that they pay attention to the details. Here are some details which suggests that this game might end up being pretty tight; but that Marshall should prevail.

In two previous road games Marshall gave up:

34 points to Ohio at Ohio, which is the 87th rated offense; and
29 (really 21) points to VT at VT, which is the 108th rated offense.

At first blush, that may not register until one realizes that FAU's offense is rated 93rd in the Country and the game is at FAU. In FAU's only other home game; they scored 35 points against MTSU. Just looking at those facts and assuming no other factors are involved (like suspensions, injuries, etc.); then FAU is likely to score similarly to Ohio and VT against the Marshall defense (about 27.5 points), which indicates a tight game because the Marshall offense only averages 25 points a game on the road. That is why this smells like a tight game like FAU had against MTSU, but then again I don't handicap these contests for a living.

Finally, looking ahead a little Marshall will face similar type offensive statistical splits when they play at MTSU and at Tulsa, because MTSU is 95th in total offense and Tulsa is 96th. Oddly enough UAB is not likely to score as much as FAU, MTSU and Tulsa against Marshall; even though UAB's offense is rated higher at 93rd, because UAB will be playing Marshall at Marshall and Marshall's defense appears to be much better at Marshall than on the road. Just my take.

Our defense gave up 14 points in regulation to VT, the other 7 was a blocked punt. Ohio scored 7 on a fumbled KO in the endzone and 6 more off two turnovers where they didn't have to advance the ball to kick them so really the D was responsible for giving up 21 in that game.

Point being, if we manage turnovers we should be fine. I guess if you paid attention to the details you already knew that though. Turnovers are the only reason we aren't 5-0 right now.

So I was correct in saying that Marshall gave up 21 points to VT. And regardless of how you are trying to minimize how points were scored by VT and Ohio; points that eventually result off turnovers are still counted against the defense.

Btw, turnovers are not the sole reason if at all that Marshall is not 5-0; because VT had 2 turnovers in the same game to Marshall's 3. Marshall did have turnovers against Ohio, but the one thing that jumps out in both games is that Marshall lost the time of possession battle (by approximately 7 minutes against VT and 9 minutes against Ohio); which means that the Marshall defense spent too much time on the field. And if you are going to say that turnovers solely caused you games then you have to admit that winning the turnover battle in other games is the only reason that you won; which is also bunk.

I think Marshall is in for a tight game. FAU is playing their best ball of the year. They have some of the best corners ECU has played all year and their D as a whole is physical, plus they have some of the best athletes in the conference. Glad we are not playing them now or on the road.

Don't try and rationalize with EZWHO people. My question is why are they even posting in this thread. When they have nothing to do with this weeks game. We have some EZWHO stalkers I know.....

Our blogger did a chart and story on FAU's improving offense. Very nice work and it lays out the progress the team has made since week 1. Things definately improved once we settled on one guy.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fau-o....htmlstory

After starting the season as one of the worst offenses in the nation, FAU is downright juggernaughtish — having put up 579 yards against UAB this week.

Looking at the numbers, it's clear at what changed for the Owls.

When FAU converts on third downs, it has success. When the Owls don't, well.... check it out

No clue who wins this one....But like most CUSA games it will likely come down to a play in the 4th quarter, a turnover or busted coverage. Marshall is the better team but FAU is improving and just good enough to make them a tough out on the road. Take FAU and the points, not confident enough to choose FAU outright but I would not be shocked if it happened.....This is very similar to how I feel about the ECU vs Tulane game.

Marshall and ECU have be up for every conference game....Especially on the road. Since these 2 schools are considered the class of the league at this point we will get most teams best shot and that sets up for some very tough battles on the road.

CUSA is a much better league than last year....The league was an absolute joke last except for Tulsa and UCF. One thing I have noticed is much better defensive play this year in the league. Several of the new schools play a much more physical style of defense than what we are used to seeing in CUSA.
