Because literally the only people who care are fans of those teams...so who cares? Not one Ohio fan that votes is going to switch their allegiance to NIU because we have as many votes as them. Same with the other 3 schools.

And I don't buy the "it gets our name out more" argument...everyone who sees this poll is likely a college football diehard (or any poll, espn sportsnation, whatever) that either knows about us and doesn't care, or will never care, about NIU. What a freaking waste of time.

Winning team will have its game-day atmosphere featured in a nationally syndicated television show at the end of the season. Great publicity for recruiting, not just for student-athletes but for all students and the university in general. Vote! It doesn't hurt and it's something direct - and free - fans can do to support NIU.

NIU got some good additional time on ESPN from the thing we voted for Lynch as All American player of the week.

I have no doubt this would come with a commercial shown a few times on ESPN this Saturday. That would be great for any casual fans at home and any recruits looking at NIU.

Not to mention non athletes looking at colleges. My HS aged cousin has been to several tailgates and games over the last few years, no coincidence his first choice for college is NIU.

Um, we are too good and too big for it. I'm not one to chest thump, but this is silly. There are Division 2 and Division 3 teams on there. They basically removed BCS schools and lumped everyone else together who plays college football.

UW-Whitewater? Are you kidding me? Here's their 11,000 seat "stadium". http://uwwsports.com/news/2013/9/19/FAC_0919132917.aspx It certainly is under the radar.
