We have improved and now
We have to develop a habit of winning. We are seeing a team that is being transformed before our eyes. We have some very talented young players that are making plays. But young players sometimes play like young players.

We need to learn how to hold a lead.
We need to develop a killer instinct.
We need to eliminate penalties that kill drives and wipe out big gains.
We need to be in strong enough position to not let the crappy officiating we are seeing impact our games. Coach can complain and get apologies after every game but it will not change the outcome.
Our receivers are dropping too many passes.
We need to learn (or coaching allow) downing the ball in the end zone to avoid he Peter principle. Fumble or not, there was not a lot room to run on that KO and nobody touched the gunner that made the helmet to helmet hit on Warford.

I'm not complaining about our mistakes. We have come a great distance so far this year and are miles ahead of where we have been the the previous four. Good teams find a way to win. We are close but we have to get past these hard luck losses which takes a toll on the players and fans. Until we find a way to win games we should win like MTSU and occasionally beat the really good teams like UCF we can't call ourselves a good team, just improved.

While I'm on it I am disappointed in our slipping fan base. Love the enthusiasm of the people there yesterday but the student section is sad and the bandwagon jumpers are jumping back off.

I was on the field yesterday at half time and you can see from game to game the thinning process that resembles my hair loss. These kids deserve better.

I enjoyed yesterday as much as any game since our last winning season. I think we are capable of winning 5 of our last 8 but we don't know what kind of road team we are yet. We are most definitely heading in the right direction but hard luck losses need to change to good teams find a way to win.

Ok, I've watched the hit 50 times. It wasn't the gunner but he did come in untouched and it was a direct helmet hit.

True freshman QB. Mostly sophomores and freshman playing. Where were are now from where we were is lights years apart. The wins will come. I have been looking forward to this game since the season started because it was going to be the first real test to gauge our progress. Honestly I never thought we would have a chance to win it much less completely outplay them. Folks we have a football team, a good one that is getting better every week.

I agree. If you're not happy about this program and where it is heading, you're not paying close enough attention. That was a REAL DEAL program we beat up yesterday.

Lynch is not a true freshman.

Good post. FYI, Lynch is a redshirt freshman.

RE: We have improved and now
Yes.

Heading into the season it seemed clear that the team would be much improved but that the wins may not reflect that. We would be better and be in more positions to win but may not get over the hump.

As that has played out- it is...more agonizing than I would have predicted.

But being in position to beat a solid team and actually having to turn it over a lot in order to lose certainly is better than being down 28-10 heading into the 4th.

Getting really close- PAINFULLY easy to see...look out- soon.

A redshirt freshman that missed most of his senior year of high school is my understanding

On point....I am looking at the schedule and optimistic of our chances in every game we have left...this could really be a fun season...
