Indoor track with turf field in middle. It is in the report

Yup, the Carr "info brochure" lists converting the Convo to a field house under long range plans which they define as 3 or more years down the road.

saw that but wasn't sure if "turf field' meant football necessarily? off season / bad-weather practice would be a boon for us (within NCAA guidelines of course)

Has JMUs administration said anything since the Carr report was released? Or are they still monitoring the situation?

JMU will go underground till the spring. I think that most of us are resigned to the fact that Spring 2014, around the FF time, is the earliest that a conference announcement would be made, if any. If not then, then it could be May 2014.

The next board of visitors meeting is in January. Most people think no announcement will come earlier than that.

I wouldn't expect to hear anything substantial until near the deadline of June 1st, 2014.

they're collecting input through the Madison future commission website...would be completely boneheaded of them to make announcements / spout off before collecting and reviewing (alger is a serious collaborator / buy-in guy...but he'll run far and fast once it's all done)

I think they are just looking for enough support though the survey. Alger and others know the move makes sense, but needs ammo to defeat the objectors (faculty).

I asked in the other thread, but didn't get a response: Does anybody know if there's a cutoff date for comments to the MFC? I would not be surprised to see a special BOV meeting called after the faculty meeting with Carr. That is speculation on my part. Don't book anything.

Please, don't waste money on that guy. He has yet to win anywhere with his players (richmond or UVA). Good guy, but a BAD COACH. UVA had to hire Tom O'Brien as an associate head coach to basically babysit London to protect him from himself on game days.

So, in a couple of places there have been some posts listing reasons why we should stay in FCS. If someone wanted to write comments in favor of moving to FBS, but doesn't want to go through all the posts to compile a list of reasons.....what would those top reasons be? Yes, I am drafting my comments. I have some reasons but am curious as to what people think the top reasons are for moving to FBS.

The fear that it will negatively impact academics. Also, the fear of change.

Wasn't there some talk of building an indoor football facility at the grass field location next to the old baseball stadium? I thought I heard they wanted to demolish that and build a big facility there.

last I saw, the village, old baseball and parking lot on that side of campus were coming down for a larger dorm-village part deux (god, hopefully with SOME bluestone, columns and Spanish tile....on that note, CSAT really could use a makeover - would have been cool if they had kept the Spanish tile roofs with that blond brick). rant off.

Nice bowl locations.

Well this is from our commish but is really about the co-operation between the CUSA, MAC, ACC, MWC, and SunBelt conferences.

Thanks for the video Steve. MAC is a good conference, one that would be happy to be a part of.
