Personnel Moves?
Back to football: Just watched Monday's presser from Oneill's. MM stated that last Saturday has caused the coaches to consider some personnel moves and trying different players in different spots. he did not give specifics; I know he was not pleased with the OL play. Does anyone have any idea of insight into the specific positions/players he was referencing?

RE: Personnel Moves?
i can imagine OL is the only place that would take place.

Maybe shifting guys between S and DB.

RE: Personnel Moves?
I still say give Jeremiah Wilson another shot at CB, although he had an awful day on Saturday at safety. I also think they need to find a way to get and keep Peter Rose on the field at some position. He's too talented to have rotating in periodically. As for OL, I think Fucci and Kirsch start getting more PT.

RE: Personnel Moves?
I'm wondering too about the O-line. I watched twice as a single Delaware D-lineman bowled over two of our lineman simultaneously. I had thought going into the season that Cunningham was going to be our weak link. I'm beginning to think it's more along the interior.

And I agree about Peter Rose. Don't know where we'd put him, but good play seems to happen when he's on the field.

From what I've witnessed all season, Peter Rose is a better player than Jeremiah Wilson.

Such as moving himself out of the head coach position...

Come on, someone had to say it. It was just hanging out there.

From this mornings DNR:

NOTE: Seeking more production at the position, Matthews said that Josh Hogan, a converted defensive tackle, will start at tight end Saturday against Albany.

That tells me Mickey wants to run more. Perhaps he will throw in 2 TE formations in an attempt to overpower teams

Peter Rose is flat-out good and needs to be on the field somewhere.

Oddly, in the upcoming game notes, Rose is listed as Till's backup in our depth chart. However, where it shows "When the Dukes have the ball" and lists the starters and backups- John Barillo is listed as Till's backup. Hoping it's a mistake. Rose is a player.

Pete Rose, now a senior has been far under-utilized for 2+ years.

RE: Personnel Moves?
Taylor "Torched" Reynolds was benched, I believe in the Albany game. We cannot afford to continue to allow him to give up two big plays each game. He has to learn to keep the play in front of him. Every team goes after him. If I studied game film of JMU, I would, too. It will be interesting to see if MM starts him against a Richmond team that will surely attack him.

I only watched sparingly in the second half. Do you know who replaced him?

The great thing about pass coverage Saturday was that Gage Steele covered the quick outs like a beast! He had to have 4 or 5 tackles that way.

I don't know who replaced him. MM got in his face when he cam off the filed after getting torched for the second time. We were commenting during the game on the amount of space Gage covered; sideline to sideline. He will be an All-American before he leaves JMU. Anxious to see what he will do in the middle after Stephon graduates. I think he will be one of the top two or three linebackers in JMU history.

I agree. On Madizone, Dudley thought that Reynolds had made one of the tackles and realized it was Steele sprinting out to make it.

RE: Personnel Moves?
I believe that it was walk-on true freshmen cornerback Jevontae Parrish that replaced him.

He did, and I thought he did a fairly nice job. They went after him too, and he was the DB that had the INT go through his hands in the 2nd half. However, he was in good position on the play and those guys play on the defensive side of the ball and not the offensive for a reason. Hands are sometimes one of those reasons.
