Nice gesture, but if Congrese doesn't seem to give a crap if the government's employees get paid, then I doubt that a few cancelled football games are going to light a fire under their collective arses.

Actually, didn't they say the simply can't travel? They weren't "taking a stand", simply not allowing non-essential travel.

Not sure of the full details. Heard it on talk radio. One of them cancaled a soccer match tonight

Apparently, some home games are being cut too, but I just wanted people to know it's not like the Service Academies were taking a stand or protesting.

I think it is all political frankly. Every organization out there right now is doing whatever it can to draw negative attention to the situation. Why the hell else do you pull the feed on the panda cam. I'm sure its not breaking the budget, nor is dismissing a football game that actually makes money. Govt organizations are pulling down web sites closing memorial sites...all consumer (public) facing operations in hope that the public will actually think this shut down is somehow having an effect on their lives.
