Texas Todd to retire.
The source said Texas President Bill Powers will lead the search for a successor and would very much like to have the position filled possibly before Dec. 1 although that's probably overly optimistic. The source added that West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck, a graduate of the Texas Law School, would be an important candidate "to keep an eye on."

RE: Texas Todd to retire.
I kind of doubt Luck would take the job, since he considers WVU a special place. When he left the job of managing the Houston Sports Complex, he said WVU was the only job he would consider leaving them for...
But the Texas job would give him unlimited funds, and we've seen people move for less. However, I doubt he want to take a job where it would be his job to make sure WVU loses out. He may be a Texas Law School graduate. But he's a WVU alumnus, and that's where he got the start that allowed him to go to Law School...
I guess we'll find out which soon enough...

If Luck did go to Texas, it would be hard to blame him. I am sure he would leave with class and dignity, unlike The Product. Luck at Texas HELPS WVU long term as well, as it should ensure Big 12 stability and probable expansion. Both are good things.
That said, I do not want him to go.
