The fewest points we've scored on an FCS team this year is 59. And while some say Citadel is not good, what have their other opponents scored? We are 20-3 against FCS teams the last two years. With 2 of those losses to perennial power GA Southern. Liberty is not as good as the previous FCS teams we've lost to. While Liberty haa better D than Howard and Albany but I doubt better than the Citadel l. They will not stop us.
ODU wins 56-35

We gotta take Liberty’s D serious. They have kept all opponents to a couple TD’s until they lost to UofR in a very close game. They won 73-7 last week against Kentucky Wesleyan. I know its not a BCS team. Yet my point is that I liked what I saw from our D in the Albany game. I want to see our D stifle Liberty all day! Get mean and tough up the middle, and shut their receivers down. We need to make a statement and go on a 4 game winning streak. And plug the gaps up the middle and not let this happen:
But remember tons going on on campus also. Big tennis tournament and mens soccer game. Also womens bb open practice. Plus the parade early tailgating and game that will be televised.

Is this guy serious? I BELIEVE Maryland is now ranked number 25. He "would put our DBS up against theirs" ? He REALLY thinks THEIR DBS can hold a candle to UMD, that had a ranked defense last year, when the team was terrible? Maybe they need to merge with the JMU board!
You are correct Lucky, Maryland is AP rated the #25 team in the country.

I think the biggest obstacle your team will face aside from the effeciency of our offense is it's pace. I don't know how many teams you face that execute 90 or more plays per game but it can wear on a defense toward the middle of the 3rd quarter.
The DB comment was hilarious...but it's not the first time an FCS school was overconfident in how they stack up against FBS teams. We did it against UMD.
As for getting pressure on TH, good luck. Only UMD was able to do that, and that's because they had beast linebackers and linemen who could cut off the edge and contain him. I highly doubt any FBS team has more than one or two fringe FBS players on their defense.
TH is going to find ways to keep the play alive, and when he does, watch out. Liberty can win this game if they score 60+. I know Citadel raped us, but I don't see Liberty doing the same.
Just some food for thought, here's what TH has done to our three FCS opponents this season:
83/102 (81%), 1134 yds, 9 TD, 0 INT
And the only game in which he played more than a drive in the second half was Citadel.
Quote:They are good, but I have to say not as good as people expected them to be going into this year. There was a lot of talk that they would beat either ECU or Maryland. Neither game was really close and Maryland blew them out. They beat a 1 and 4 Citadel team 59 to 58 AT HOME. One of the Citadel´s losses was to CSU. They can be had. An effort like we had against Stoney Brook last year would result in a win IMHO. We haven´t done that on the road in a long time. I would love to see it.
Did they even watch the ECU game? UMD was a blowout, but ECU won because of one play.
Unless Liberty runs the triple-option, I don't see how the Citadel comparison even matters, either.
And Stony Brook? STONY BROOK? That deserves a Chris Carter "C'mon, man!"

Maryland fans must have thought some us were crazy with some of the same things were said by our fans before that game. I love all the pregame talk, hopefully they bring a loud crowd with them on Saturday.

However, i doubt even the Maryland fans really thought they would be in the top 25 at this point.

I think people forget Maryland had 5 QB's go down with injuries last year.
UMD wasn't in the top 25 when they beat you so, to me that means little. What I meant is we have some very good DB's that I think match up well against your WR's. Pressure burst pipes and that will def be the tale of the game. If we can get pressure on TH then we might do ok if not then everyone is right is won't matter if we had Deion, db's can't cover but for so long. I won't predict a score but I think it can be closer than what most people think, is all im saying. If im wrong then the score will def indicate it.
the thing that gets me is just as prolific as your O is your D is just as Horrific. I def think we can move the ball against you guys either thru the air or on the ground. Clock mgmt. will be key as well, as a cpl of time consuming drives can hopefully keep TH off the field a lil bit. I guess were gonna have to see if once ODU hits LU in the mouth (which they will) how will ODU respond, if they hit back ODU will be in for another dog fight just that simple. And I think LU does have a cpl of people that will hit back. Just my opinion.

What it means is they are much better than people thought, and they're starting to become recognized for it. The team hasn't changed since we played them.
