No, you implied he was cheating via your question. I've never accused Memphis or UL of cheating, just being heavy handed with recruits and opposing recruiters. But it's a big boy game, so wear a helmet, and watch your back.

Oh and I think he was having fun with by hoping Donnie was cheating, "just like everyone else is". I'm sure it was tongue in cheek.

How do you count 2 for next year? Sykes, Spurlock, Newell graduate, plus we are down a scholly because of probation.

Dang it seems that memphis will not be getting talent out of UCF's backyard anymore...

We played with only 10 scholarships last year, so the NCAA is letting us play with 12 this year.

For 2014-2015 (the last year of the sanctions), we have to play with 11.

As for next year unless a stud shows up (5*) and wants to commit I don't think we take more than 2 unless someone leaves the team during or after the season. We only have 2 scholarships to give out for 2014. I could see someone leaving the team though, its not like it hasn't happened every year since DJ got here and if its an upgrade in talent I don't mind.

Then once you add in how players are basically free to transfer and teams can add as many scholarship players they want per year since the 5/8 Rule was eliminated....the trend in college hoops is that at least 1 player leave their program somewhat unexpected each year (many times due to lack of playing time) so that opens up new scholarships all the time...so HC's are now almost always recruiting "extra targets" and even securing their verbals before they have room for them.

In some cases, even after those extra players sign in Feb...the scholarships come August just aren't there so some transfer even before participating in their first practice.
