What is our 2013 bowl lineup?
In all the talk about future contracts I realized I don't even know where to find the current lineup for this year. Can anyone assist?

RE: What is our 2013 bowl lineup?
1. BCS game (location TBD)
2. Russel Athletic (Orlando) vs ACC #3
3. Belk (Charlotte) vs ACC #5
4. Pinstripe (New York) vs Big 12 #7
5. BBVA Compass (Birmingham) vs SEC #8/#9
6. Beef O'Brady's (St. Petersburg) vs C-USA

The Liberty Bowl also could take an American team, but that is not likely to happen.

Thanks - are all BCS bowls on the table or are any ruled out already?

I got to say that #2 sounds pretty good if we come in 2nd place.

I love traveling so I'm pulling for NY or Charlotte if not BCS. They are also both the Saturday after Christmas so it wouldn't suck all of my vacation.

All BCS bowls are in play. The American champion is basically lumped in with the at-large selections. The bowls that lose a team to the national championship game get first selection between the American champion or any eligible at-large team. So if the Rose Bowl loses either the Pac 12 or B1G champion to the NCG game, they could pick American champion if they wanted (very unlikely, of course).

After the NCG participant replacement slots are filled, then the following bowls pick in order to fill their standard at-large slots:

Orange
Sugar
Fiesta

If nobody else wants the American champion, they will slide down to the Fiesta Bowl.

I doubt we go to the Sugar bowl 2 years in a row. More likely Fiesta or Orange. (Knowing our current luck it will be AAC vs Fresno St in the Fiesta)

If UCF or Lville get the Bid...then I'd see Orange Bowl.

Any chance Russell passes on UCF in hopes of more hotel rooms being sold to Cinci or Rutgers fans?

I would think the bowl would be more concerned with selling tickets than hotel rooms and I would like to think that UCF could bring a lot more to a bowl game in town than Cincy or Rutgers so I doubt they would pass.

Possible...

Losses vs. UCF (3), @Houston (4), vs. Cincinnati (5) and @Louisville (6)

Wins vs. SMU (2), UT-Martin (3), @USF (4), Temple (5), and @UConn (6)

My instinct is 5-7, but 6-6 is doable.

I think a bowl-game is concerned with "hotel rooms", too, but then the question is, would UC or Rutgers really bring That many fans to a non-BCS bowl?

I agree 100%...I think 5-7...but the fan in me says 6-6

Depends on who is coming from the ACC. If its Miami or FSU they will pick Cincy or Rutgers. Anyone else, they will pick UCF. Its a one time thing anyways they aren't resigning with the American. (1 FL team and 1 visiting team seems like the formula for success)

I am kind of hoping for a UCF vs Georgia Tech match up. The O'Leary Bowl!

Is that Fiesta Bowl match-up even possible barring a Big 12 champ in the title game? I don't believe so, and the odds of the Big 12 in the champ game appear low.

Either way I'm hoping Fresno takes a loss somewhere. They may be top 25 quality but I think they will get drilled in a BCS game, a la NIU '12 or Hawaii '08. They have the win over Rutgers and I realize they had a huge lead early last night, but barely hanging on by 5 against winless Hawaii says a lot.

That could be intriguing but is unlikely on the GT end of things. GT has been an ACC hot potato for the bowls in years past. They along with BC generally end up in a lower bowl than their season deserves due to poor travelling fan reputations.

Rutgers went to the Russel last year, so I don't think they would want us two years in a row.
