Obviously David Washington played, and I saw#11. No Shane McCarley, anyone know anything?

I would guess they plan on redshirting him and barring injuries we won't be seeing him this year. That was the plan for Heinicke during his freshman year before Demarco got hurt.

I have seen him dressed at other games, however, including Maryland, so he should have been there. We talked to him at Fan Appreciation Day and he was very excited about playing both Football and baseball for ODU.

Doubt he will be playing baseball at ODU. That would require him to MISS ALL of spring ball

He has dressed for all the games except this one. I have a feeling we may be hearing of a transfer soon. Just a feeling.

It would suck if he transferred, but Shuler Bentley would help me get over it very quickly.

Maybe he had a personal matter to tend to in TX.

True. I suppose it is just natural for us hardcore fans to try to "read the tea leaves" and speculate about possible problems. Often there is some harmless explaination; sometimes, as with Caleb Taylor there is a problem. I sure hope it's the former here.

Yes, just speculating, hope the kid is still a Monarch.

I suspect that it has been decided that he will redshirt this season and he won't dress out for the rest of the season.

You can still dress and be on the field with the team, but obviously, maybe they are comfortable enough with Washington now that even a bad injury (like what happened with DeMarco) won't bring him off the bench.

I sent a tweet to Harry. A few others should as well.

Not at all !! All redshirts still dress. Some may not travel but all dress for home games unless they are hurt from practice, etc.

I noticed it at halftime when he wasn't out warming up with the qbs

I high-fived all the players during the Monarch March and he wasn't with the team.

Not all redshirts dress out or are even on the sideline. I am friends with a true freshman on the football team who is redshirting. He practices, attends weight lifting sessions, and attends team meetings but he does not dress out for the game. I stood right next to him in the student section yesterday. McCarley could have been doing the same thing?

Maybe Bobby only dresses three quarterbacks. Perhaps # 11 passed Shane on the depth chart?

McElroy has always been ahead of McCarley on the depth chart.
