I don't see how committing on twitter is any less official than any other type of committing (other than signing a LOI)

Sometimes kids commit when they don't really have an offer......doubt if that is the case here though.

If he couldn't pull an offer from the F_Us, that might be the case

When we get to Feb. 5th, 2014, UAB will introduce about 25 new recruits as our new student-athletes. Will they all be the top 25 we wanted? It never has been before and probably won't be then. As a former Sec of Defense stated,"We fight a war with the military we have". UAB will play next season with the team it has.

Kids sometimes get confused about what is an offer and what is not.

Recruting tidbits from the "experts":
... if you haven't talked to the head coach, you don't have an offer.
...schools want to be the first to offer because it’s something about the first offer that resonates with an athlete and their parents.
...just because a player is offered a scholarship DOES NOT mean they are necessarily going to receive it.
...until the coach calls you, invites you to the school and makes you a formal offer letters mean nothing.
...etc

I admit that I don't follow recruiting very closely, but I'm confused about what happened or what we think happened, and do we have a basis for it?
