You claim to know the latest in teaching techniques, yet your student's don't care.

BTW, you missed how I teach in the earlier post, Mr. Memory. They learn because they can relate to the situation and when to apply the formulas/techniques. They don't require Rainman's photo memory, Raymond. And yes, I know you're an excellent driver, and that you like Judge Wapner.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day

Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Teach a man how to teach others to fish and he will feed the world.

It's all about facilitation. You are working too hard.

Rather than tell the students what they need to know, allow the students to learn the material themselves.

They will retain more that way.

And it shows with all the cheating, scandals, failing, drop outs, and so on.

It works like a charm.

The cheating and the scandals are occurring in schools where the teachers are not very good. That's not the case in my school.

Failing and dropping out happens for a number of reasons starting out in the home.

This is another reason why what you do and what I do is apples and oranges.

Public schools deal with every kind of situation. We deal with kids who cannot improve their situation. They are abused, neglected, poor, have psychological problems etc. etc. All of these factors have a significant impact on their success in school.

If they make it to your level, the chances are that they either never had these kinds of problems or learned to overcome them.

They aren't sophisticated enough to know how to deal with these issues as teenagers.
