Amazing, I think I was living under a rock or something the last few months...I didn't know they were making a 7th until the post. I have always wanted a sequel to return of the Jedi, but had given up since Lucas didn't seem to want to do it. Glossed over news of Disney buying the franchise because I thought they were going to animate it...which wouldn't be real.

You know...Disney does a lot of stuff that isn't animated.

I keep telling myself that it can't be any worse than I-III that Lucas did.
I liked III, but hated I and II. I liked the way they crafted the ending of III...getting through I and II to get to that point was hard.
There's no crying in the SITH!
I-III =
I think they'll be good, but will piss off the purists. There are so many good story lines out there from comics to books that they don't really need to do much. But they will, but hopefully won't screw it up to bad.

You'd think someone would have figured out by now that if there are only two Sith...you should take out both at the same time.
It only took them 6 movies to figure it out, and that was by complete accident.

I think if they were smart they'd take the storyline of the most popular character in the movies and run with it: Boba Fett.
That way, they aren't touching the original trilogy (fanboys are happy), they pay homage to a HUGELY popular character (fanboys are happy), and it's got plenty of fighting/gunplay/"Car" chases (makes the non-sci fi group happy).

I have heard that they are planning on creating a movie around Boba Fett.

Please tell Disney they can mail me my check anytime, as I know I must be the first and only person to have this idea... EVER.

SportsCenter and College Football Primetime come to mind.

I liked III, but have always been bothered by Yoda just giving up. Here is jumping from senate platform to platform, dodging the flying debris force thrown at him, absorbing force lightning, disarming the emperor, and then he falls straight down, catches himself on the emperor's thrown and falls to the ground and throws in the towel.
The story board board showed thousands of clone troopers coming in and raining blaster fire down on him. That would make far more sense, but no, had to show him woosing out on saving the galaxy.
Meanwhile, Obi Wan out-duels Anakin, even chops off his legs and good hand, but doesn't finish him off and instead walks off. Had he offed him there, is it out of the realm of the ordinary to think that he could have teamed up with Yoda and tried again. I mean Yoda did get to his chambers once...
